Summary
This hiking boot is lightweight but durable. It is a great boot for woods or rocky hikes. Recommended for long hikes or day. Good if have limited time to break a boot in.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Waterproof
- Heel comfort
- Durable
Cons
- Could possibly use slightly deeper treads.
New to hiking on a consistent basis since 2009, the Asolo boot was recommended to me as little to no time was needed to break the boot in. The heel comfort is amazing and I have never had a hot spot there.
They are lightweight, waterproof, and give fantastic ankle support. They have reliable traction on the rocks of Katahdin or the slippery rocks in a streambed. The boot is also warm in winter for snowshoeing. The lacings are set in place so there's no fumbling to tie.
Another great feature is that if I did get any water into the boot directly, they were quick drying. I wear short gators so rocks in the boot have never been an issue. The Asolo boot is also available online at VERY reasonable prices.Though some companies offer "lifetime" trade-ins on products, even boots, I wouldn't trade the comfort of the Asolo for the free trade-in.
