User Review: Asolo Globaline Parallel
Use: backpacking, rough trail
Break-in Period: two weeks
Price Paid: $190
In the store they felt great, but once I got out on the trail (Cloud Peak Wilderness) I began to feel a nagging pressure toward the front of my ankles. This appears to be caused by the wrap-around plastic support that goes around the ankle and connects to the heel of the boot. After seven or eight miles it became painful, and I was forced to wrap a piece of cloth around my ankle to cushion against this point. I've tried different lacing schemes without success. For short hikes the boot performs well. It is certainly waterproof. I like the pulley lacing system. If it wasn't for the ankle pressure I'd love these things. As it is, I'm half tempted to cut off that plastic support and see what happens.
