User Review: Big Agnes Sarvis SL2 w/ eVENT
Design: 3 season freestanding
Ease of Setup: Easy enough with practice
Weight: 2 kilos
Price Paid: £240
Bought chiefly for touring with hand luggage using planes, trains and buses, though I'm looking forward to some really comfortable long distance trekking. Our priorities: light weight and compactness, ventilation, space. So far used mainly on campsites in UK and Italy, and gives amazing space and comfort: best width and headroom of any 2 man tent I've used. Also comfortable in really hot weather through combination of light colours and very good ventilation.
Bags are small and light enough for airline carry on luggage with tent, sleeping bag and mattresses (I use a lightweight 30L rucksack). For back country trekking I'd maybe drop a star, as the porch isn't the biggest for cooking. Set up seems complicated at first, but is easy once you're used to it and gives a very stable tent, with everything nicely tensioned. Very little condensation on the chilliest of nights so far, and none on the Event panels.
