User Review: Black Diamond HiLight
Design: Free standing single wall tent
Ease of Setup: takes a little practice
Weight: 2 lbs. 10 ounces
Price Paid: $339
This is a truly great tent but it does have its limitations. This is not a tall person's tent, I'm 5'8" and it fits me great but if you're over six feet tall then go with the BD Lighthouse. Also this isn't a tent you can lie in and gaze up at the stars.
Here's what it does have: great ventilation which means virtually no condensation. I slept in it during a torrential downpour in Yosemite one Memorial Day weekend and stayed totally dry and comfy. No need for a rain fly as the poles go inside making this a weather proof all-in-one shelter.
This is really meant for one person with extra room or two 'very friendly' people, but it's not a two man tent as described. This tent is light weighing in at only a bit over 2.5 lbs. It has a huge door which makes this thing like a living room with a view.
Overall, well worth the money and the envy of your backpacking buddies.
