This compass is a very easy to use, light weight and accurate. it works well in the cold weather as well as the hot weather. It is a god choice for a beginner to the experienced navigator. It will serve you well as a primary compass or as a back-up compass. It is small enough to fit in your pocket or carry on a lanyard but not big enough to be cumbersome.

This style and type of compass has been the standard compass for years for Boy Scouts as well as woodsmen. I always keep it in the pouch on the wast-belt of my pack so its handy when I need it. I have used expensive heavy compasses that do just about every thing you can think of but this compass does what you need for navigation.

I highly recommend it for beginners because of its ease of use and it has the features you need to do most all navigation with out being overwhelming to the user. It has a clear base so you can still easily read your map and easily set up your direction of travel. This is a must have item for any adventure.
