This is the knife you want for all the kinds of work you hesitate to use your fancy cutlery for.

A very wide blade with a good hollow grind leaving a very substantial spine. A comfortable handle long enough to keep your hand safe while you use a club to pound the blade through kindling. A decent if unlovely sheath. A good edge that's easily restored. What more could you want?

I can't comment on its suitability for skinning game animals, but I have beaten and pried and twisted this blade shamelessly, and it has not failed me. This is my favorite camp knife ever.

There are some tools that you'd replace without hesitation if you lost them. This is one.
