In general this is a fine bottle, with all of the familiar features of Camelbak bottles. Its twist-top shut off valve works well. The shape of the bottle is a bit different than other Camelbak bottles, and is comfortable in the hand. It is top rack dishwasher safe.

I deduct one star because the bite valve is not compatible with an accessory that Camelbak sells- a length of hose with a valve on one end which attaches to the bottle (with the bite-valve removed) and a regular bite valve on the other. Essentially this transforms the bottle into a bladder-type affair that can be stowed while providing the expected Camelbak sippin' hose. This attachment works well with the flip-up better bottle version of the Camelbak bottle, but doesn't with this bottle. One point penalty! Otherwise, good product.

My daughter uses this bottle to take with to school every day. I preferred a BPA free bottle for her, that would be durable, easy to clean and easy for her to use.

The ability to clean all parts of this bottle was a plus, breaks down to bite valve, lid, straw, container. I prefer to handwash even though you can place in dishwasher if desired. The cap feature to stop water flow has worked well. Have had absolutely zero problems with it and considering child use/abuse it has stood up to the challenge.

We previously used Nalgene lexan bottles, while colorful, durable and easy to clean the debate continues over BPA. If there is some concern over a chemical I prefer to avoid it outright, which is why we decided on the CamelBak Performance Bottle.
