Nova Craft Prospector 16

rated 5 of 5 stars Love the wall height, rocker 2" great, all around great canoe!!!!! Handles wonderful on running rivers, great on smooth water, the Tuff Stuff material I love because of light weight and durability. Expect to last till I'm gone. Full review

Nova Craft Trapper Solo

rated 4 of 5 stars If you are looking for a nice, small boat to toss in the back of your truck or sling over your shoulder for small rivers and ponds, I highly recommend it. It is a unique little boat that I think I will keep for a long time. This boat is another Nova Craft offering originally built by Chestnut in wood and canvas. It is symmetrical and has a shallow arch bottom. Fit and finish is excellent, as most Nova Craft boats I've seen. The laced seats are the most comfortable on the market and I'm unsure why… Full review

Old Town Discovery 119

rated 5 of 5 stars Great canoe! It's rugged, light, and easy to pull over log jams or sands bars. It feels tipsy at first, but is plenty stable for fishing or jump shooting duck. Have not been dumped yet, does require a good j-stroke or double paddle. This is a great little canoe! I have two other Old Town canoes for use with family and friends, but needed something lighter I could easily throw in the bed of the truck for fishing and duck hunting solo. The 119 has a shallow arched bottom so it does not have as much… Full review

Mad River Explorer 16

rated 4.5 of 5 stars One of the great all around boats, especially for those who lean towards rivers over lakes. I have not had a chance to use this as much as I have the Old Town Tripper and the Old Town Pathfinder (Camper). It was purchased for river camping and as a boat that could handle larger rapids than my other boat the Old town Pathfinder. It has mainly been used in the rivers of North Carolina.  Although friends have been very happy with it paddling most years of their lives across Canada with or without… Full review

Old Town Pathfinder

rated 5 of 5 stars Strong and long lasting canoe for two people to camp or a small family to cruise in. Very durable, but don't count on doing very well on any river that has more than class II rapids. This boat is great. It was a craiglist purchase in great condition. I think someone at Old Town actually told me it is the same boat as the Camper but just a different name from several years ago. I think they just started making two sizes of the Camper instead of keeping the Pathfinder name. Oh it is also less then… Full review

Old Town Tripper 172

rated 5 of 5 stars Most durable and long lasting canoe I have ever experienced or heard of. The Old Town Tripper after 40+ years of hard use and still going. Durability I grew up in this canoe. My dad purchased it before I was born. It is over 40 years old and has only been kept outside in the elements on the shores of Lake Superior. Harsh conditions to say the least (plenty of sun and sub zero temps). It has been run up on the cobblestone and bed rock basalt coasts all its life and yes the outer layer on one of the… Full review

Wenonah Itasca Ultra-Light Kevlar Canoe

rated 5 of 5 stars Great tripping canoe for long distance paddling! Holds lots of gear. Loved this boat on big open water of Lake Superior. Full review

Old Town Next Canoe

rated 5 of 5 stars Great boat. It's not a canoe or kayak but a hybrid. Paddles like a kayak and carries gear like a canoe. Very comfortable seat. I've been looking for a kayak to purchase and came across the Next Canoe. Wow, I can't believe how it paddles. It paddles just like a good touring kayak and you can get up to full speed in about 3 strokes. This boat is very responsive as well. You can turn it on a dime and even paddle backwards almost as good as forwards.   Very stable in the water and although I haven't… Full review

Ally Canoes Model 811 16.5' DR

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent folding canoe, good for rivers. I have a very old model of this boat, late seventies, I think. So mine has a few differences, and it doesn't assemble as well as the new ones. That said, even with most plastic pieces broken, and all the poles bent out of shape it still floats! It looks like a death trap, but it works like a charm: easy to steer, stable, and lightweight. And the foam mat in the bottom makes it warm on your knees, even when it's really cold outside. If I could afford it,… Full review
