Osprey Poco Premium

rated 5 of 5 stars Lightweight and well designed. I don't believe there are any features that they didn't incorporate to make this pack perfect for hiking with a little one. My wife and I hike all the time with our daughter and she absolutely loves riding in this pack. It's super comfortable for her and has so many pockets to store her toys and baby gear. I personally love how relaxed she can be in there which makes it easier for me to focus on my hiking. I have done several 10+ mile hikes with her on my back and… Full review

Osprey Poco

rated 5 of 5 stars This product is well made with great supporting accessories. There are too many child carriers that are made for a stroll in the parking lot to the trailhead and back to the vehicle. Once parents or grandparents leave that parking lot it is critical that the equipment used provide the additional safety and protection needed in the outdoors. Of course it is also critical that the unit be comfortable for both the youngster being carried and the adult doing the carrying. Previous to having children… Full review

Kelty Mijo

rated 3 of 5 stars Good for short distance hikes. Seems a little rickety for lack of a better word. When on long hikes becomes very uncomfortable. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm such a large person (6'2" 280 lbs) but this thing is rough on a back. When we hike I normally carry a fairly heavy pack, so I know it's not the forty pounds my son weighs. If only hiking a few miles it's great. I certainly wouldn't go more than that. Absolutely couldn't beat the price as it was a baby shower gift. Full review

Deuter Kid Comfort III

rated 5 of 5 stars Very solid and comfortable for me and my little one! Super adjustable to get the right fit, and plenty of storage space. This is a really solid all-around child carrier. My toddler has really taken to this ride, and enjoys being on the trail. So much so that regular naps are not uncommon when she needs to in the pack. I'm a taller guy (6'5") and I had seen somewhere that there may be challenges, but this still has a really good fit. There is an adjust for varying sizes, and accomdates me well. This… Full review

Osprey Poco Plus

rated 5 of 5 stars Our little guys loved going on adventures last year in it at six months old. And we've already gotten out a few times this late winter/early spring with our now 18 month old. He LOVES being in the pack and it makes getting around with him a ton easier. This will be season two for our Poco Plus. Our little guys loved going on adventures last year in it at six months old.  And we've already gotten out a few times this late winter/early spring with our now 18 month old.  He LOVES being in the pack… Full review

Kelty Trek

rated 5 of 5 stars After thirteen years and five kids we passed it to friends in 80-90% condition. I carried all five of my clones in a Kelty kid carrier.  It came with a rain cover which I may have used a total of two times (Eastern WA).  I carried them on day hikes, pheasant hunting (makes shooting harder but doable), and all over the state over a thirteen year period. It is rated and will fit kids up to 45# but I usually kick them out and make them walk by age 3-4.  I just passed it on to a buddy and it is still… Full review

Kelty FC 3.0

rated 3 of 5 stars Pros It's comfortable, my kiddo likes ridding in it. Plenty of pocket room for carrying diapers, snacks and such. It comes with a sun shade and changing pad. The ability toadjust the child harness is fast and simple. Cons The lumbar height adjustment pin is held in place by a spring. But the location is in a bad place, my kid can kick the pin causing the pack to drop a notch or two. It’s a bit aggravating when my 25 lb kid causes that sensation of miss-stepping a curb. Simple fix is to remove the… Full review

Lafuma Walkid Liftback

rated 5 of 5 stars We love this pack! We use it all the time. We purchased it 2 years ago -- my husband and I have 4 kids, we have used it for the younger 2. We have even considered getting another because we have a 3-year-old that still fits very nicely in it (she is 34lbs.) and a 15-month0old that is 24lbs. We have gone up to 7 miles with the pack and could definitely do more if the kids were up for it. We love the ease of adjusting! With just one pull of a strap, the wife that is 5'3" can take it from the 5'9"… Full review
