User Review: Columbia Mt. Logan Tent
Ease of Setup: Can be set up with no problem even by the youngest scout
Weight: 7.5, heavy for 1 person, not bad is split between 2
Price Paid: $65/ discounted for Boy scouts
I am a scoutmaster for a Boy Scout Troop, we bought 6 of the tents 2 years ago and have had great luck with these tents. Easy to teach the youngest scout to set up. If split between 2 scouts the weight is of no concern. We've used in the heat of summer with the rainfly still on and if the doors are opened they stay plenty cool. We've also used these for winter camping in temps down to 10 above.
The rainfly keeps the wind out very well. The vestibules work great for the scouts to keep their packs in. This also keeps them from constantly zipping/ unzipping the main doors. They may be a little tight for 2 large scouts but for the average size boy they are perfect.
Are there better tents out there for scouts, absolutely, but not at the price for this one. We figured when we bought these if they last 3-5 years we are money ahead.
