Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Very lightweight and reasonably priced. Good protection from wind, rain, and bugs. A bit cramped for two people though. I bought this tent for a couple reasons. It is advertised as a two-person tent, and it will actually fit two people. But you better be pretty good friends, conditions would be crowded. This is not really unexpected when you consider how the tent met my other expectation. It is very lightweight. My tent actually weighs less than the published specs and by a good bit. Tent, fly,… Full review

The North Face Stratos

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a very good tent at an affordable price. It goes up very quickly and can withstand some strong weather. It is just big enough for 4 adults, but not for more than a weekend backpack. Alternatively car-camping, it is ideal for. Got this tent 18 years ago, and this Scottish summer (worst for 30 years) it leaked through the groundsheet. This is the only problem we ever had with it, and when new we sealed it up as per the manufacturer's instructions.   There is definitely a knack of pitching… Full review

Sierra Designs Vapor Light 1

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I have grown to love my Vaporlight. It started out a little tighter than I was used to but it has enough room to sit up in to change and take out my contact lenses. When I bought this tent and it was handed over to me I thought the fella forgot a few parts; it's super light. I love that it is self supporting since I often pitch on rock and can't stake down. Takes very little space in my pack. It's small but I don't mind the trade when on long hikes or climbing cliffs to get to my site. Set up: Like… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Skyview 3

rated 5 of 5 stars This tent has been to Yosemite, Adirondacks, Zion, Catskills, Colorado Rockies, the Utah desert, Canada, everywhere. Four seasons for sure. I've carried it on my own for every trip and haven't had a complaint. It's been with me since I was 8, and although I've replaced every other piece of gear I've owned, this has never gone out of date. It's repelled rain, sand, snow, and a bear. It may also be resistant to small arms fire, I just can't bring myself to test the theory.  Full review

Jeep 3-Room Screen Combo Dome Tent

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Many people love to camp. Some will use tents, while others will use a camper. If you have a Jeep, a compromise between these two approaches is to use a Wenger three-room tent. This tent attaches to the Jeep and provides a stable object to hold the tent in place regardless of the wind. It also permits you top use the back of the Jeep, and you can access a table and storage area without leaving the tent. Thanks to the fact that everything is color-coded to tell you where it goes, setting up this… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Taurine 2

rated 5 of 5 stars This tent is the jam. Man, I love this tent. The storage space inside is something that really comes into play for those extended stays. The vertical walls give the tent a very spacious feel and is easily capable of accommodating two people with bunches of gear. For the winter, the venting options are numerous with double sided doors and interior vents. The vestibules can zip from the top or bottom as well creating even more ventilation. This tent rocks, and is stable as all get out. Full review

Tarptent Scarp 2

rated 4 of 5 stars This light 2-person tent is roomy and easy to set up. With two doors and two vestibules there is plenty of venting when weather permits. The inner tent options and crossing pole options make it a 4-season tent if desired. This Tarptent 2-person tent is all silnylon for light weight. The quality and design features make it one of the best 2-person backpacking tents available.  In a pinch the tent is large enough for three ("consenting" ;o) adults sleeping head-to-toe. See Tarptent website photo. Full review

Tarptent Scarp 2

rated 5 of 5 stars Excellent customer service and made in the USA! My first experience with Henry and the Tarptent staff was nothing short of excellent! The Scarp 2 is well crafted, lightweight, versatile in configuration, and spacious. I highly recommend this tent to anyone camping as a pair and/or with a pet. Packs down small and light for those looking to lighten their load and working with minimal pack space. I had narrowed my options down to a couple tents and I settled on the Scarp 2 for a several reasons, but… Full review

Tarptent Moment DW

rated 5 of 5 stars This tent is a great solo 3- or 4-season tent, depending on options. It is the 2nd gen. Moment, the 1st gen being a single wall version. The "DW" in the name stands for Double Wall. <These photos are of my "winterizing" mods>The Tarptent Moment DW solo tent is, in a sense, the Hilleberg Akto on steroids. It does derive its basic design from the Akto but has refined the shape and capabilities a lot, making it lighter yet more versatile. Like the Akto, the Moment DW has a main hoop, but instead… Full review
