The North Face Stratos

rated 5 of 5 stars No leaks or wear visible after 18 years, 2-3 trips per year. Once slept 5 (2 shorter adults in middle of 4; slimmest lying at 90 degrees with hip and shoulder in space yielded this way). Four could backpack fine at ave of 1.2kg (2.5lbs) each. Love this—would buy again. Baking hot, snow, hiking, car booting, campsite, wild camping... all accomplished with ease. Anyone who says too heavy, note you can sleep four, unless all large, even five average adults at a squeeze, by moving all kitbags into… Full review

Jeep 3-Room Screen Combo Dome Tent

rated 5 of 5 stars Great design, very spacious and well constructed. This tent can handle bad weather and a lot of wind. I spray the seams once a year and it is dry inside. This tent has been awesome for family trips and youth groups. I can set it up by myself, but two or more people is ideal. The color coding of the poles is really helpful. It is very stable—even in high wind and soft ground. I spray the seams once a year and it doesn't leak. There is little or no condensation in the tent because of the ventilation. Full review

Sierra Designs Alpha CD

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Did someone say ZIPPERS? My goodness, this is long winded. I agree on the zipper enigma arrangements and too damn many of them with different colored grab loops and a combination code in what direction to zip them. It's the most overkill I have seen in a tent. Like I want to puzzle my way out of my tent in the middle of the night to relieve myself. Along with the mesh being on the inside and not out, it does not make sense!! You have to open the mesh first to open or close the door for venting… Full review

Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Very lightweight and reasonably priced. Good protection from wind, rain, and bugs. A bit cramped for two people though. I bought this tent for a couple reasons. It is advertised as a two-person tent, and it will actually fit two people. But you better be pretty good friends, conditions would be crowded. This is not really unexpected when you consider how the tent met my other expectation. It is very lightweight. My tent actually weighs less than the published specs and by a good bit. Tent, fly,… Full review

The North Face Stratos

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a very good tent at an affordable price. It goes up very quickly and can withstand some strong weather. It is just big enough for 4 adults, but not for more than a weekend backpack. Alternatively car-camping, it is ideal for. Got this tent 18 years ago, and this Scottish summer (worst for 30 years) it leaked through the groundsheet. This is the only problem we ever had with it, and when new we sealed it up as per the manufacturer's instructions.   There is definitely a knack of pitching… Full review

Sierra Designs Vapor Light 1

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I have grown to love my Vapor Light. It started out a little tighter than I was used to, but it has enough room to sit up in to change and take out my contact lenses. When I bought this tent and it was handed over to me I thought the fella forgot a few parts; it's super light. I love that it is self supporting since I often pitch on rock and can't stake down. Takes very little space in my pack. It's small but I don't mind the trade when on long hikes or climbing cliffs to get to my site. Set up:… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Skyview 3

rated 5 of 5 stars This tent has been to Yosemite, Adirondacks, Zion, Catskills, Colorado Rockies, the Utah desert, Canada, everywhere. Four seasons for sure. I've carried it on my own for every trip and haven't had a complaint. It's been with me since I was 8, and although I've replaced every other piece of gear I've owned, this has never gone out of date. It's repelled rain, sand, snow, and a bear. It may also be resistant to small arms fire, I just can't bring myself to test the theory.  Full review

Jeep 3-Room Screen Combo Dome Tent

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Many people love to camp. Some will use tents, while others will use a camper. If you have a Jeep, a compromise between these two approaches is to use a Wenger three-room tent. This tent attaches to the Jeep and provides a stable object to hold the tent in place regardless of the wind. It also permits you top use the back of the Jeep, and you can access a table and storage area without leaving the tent. Thanks to the fact that everything is color-coded to tell you where it goes, setting up this… Full review
