Light My Fire Spork

rated 1.5 of 5 stars I've owned three of these (bought one and received two as gifts). All three broke at some point. This is one of the pieces of gear that I always see in stores and am always tempted to buy because it's not priced high at all and seems very practical — but every one that I've owned has broken, and so have many of the ones that my friends have owned. And each time I'm on a camping trip and one of these breaks, we all talk about why we just didn't bring a disposable plastic fork or spoon with us (you… Full review

Optimus Heat Insulation Pouch

rated 4 of 5 stars Food warmer, hand warmer — how could you miss? A few years ago I gave up actually cooking on the trail. Switched to what some call freezer bag meals. I mix my dry (and sometimes fresh) ingredients at home, dump them in a freezer bag. In camp just add the appropriate amount of boiling water and let it rehydrate. Being a tinkerer I made an insulation pouch out of a piece of insulated duct wrap, and used it for quite some time. I had to be careful with it though. It was slippery to hold on to while… Full review

Optimus Terra Weekend HE Cookset

rated 4 of 5 stars Efficient boiler with room for a stove, even a 43-year-old stove. After resurrecting a 43-year-old SVEA 123 for my winter forays into the wilderness, I started looking for a pot that would be big enough to hold it. I'm always looking for ways to lighten and compact my gear. I have a tea kettle, that is really the only cookware I've carried for years; but having that and the SVEA takes up too much space in the food bag. Enter the Terra Weekend HE. I first saw this on a youtube video, purchased one,… Full review

Optimus Kettle

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I have commented earlier; this is an excellent product. I have used the .5 liter Trangia teapots for years and very successfully, but this is a better design and holds more water at .7 liters. The Trangias tend to pour with difficulty if the lid fits securely...air cannot get in to allow pouring smoothly. The new Optimus has an air vent and the pouring spout does not drip. This is a nice product; you will not be disappointed. A picture of the kettle is displayed at the beginning of the promotional… Full review

SIGG Thermal Bottle 1.0 Liter

rated 5 of 5 stars Have my 1L for about 10 years now and it still hold hot warm drinks for 24 hours, if you pre-warm it. Best for backpacking, mountaineering in cold weather. This 1L bottle weighs 522g being lighter than many other brands. It had a round bullet shape, that fits easily in inside backpacks without damaging plastic bags inside. Mine was made before the "Steelworks" sub brand, so I though it was made is Switzerland. Haven't had  any problems inside it, such as ruptured liner, rust, etc. Used daily, as… Full review

Ozark Trail Collapsible Coffee Drip

rated 5 of 5 stars The Ozark Trail Collapsible Coffee Drip is made of heat-resistant silicone, making this coffee drip both a pleasure to use and making for a great hot brew up. There is no metal to leave that metal taste and no plastic so there is no plastic taste either. Just the taste of your fresh hot brewed cuppa of coffee, tea, cocoa, hot cider, etc. Sometimes you happen across a gem of a find and it is a real SCORE. This product is one of those finds! The Ozark Trail Collapsible Coffee Drip is made of heat-resistant… Full review

Coghlan's Squeeze Tubes

rated 3.5 of 5 stars A backpacker's classic, these reusable food tubes are great for viscous foods like smooth peanut butter, honey, or jam. Their weakness is the brittle plastic bar used to seal them, but with reasonable care — or a strip of duct tape — they will hold up for years. A classic that hasn't yet been reviewed on Trailspace! I'm happy to patch the hole. These reusable food tubes have been available in outdoor supply stores for about as long as I can remember. We still have an old, well-used pair and… Full review

Coleman Family Cook Set

rated 5 of 5 stars This set is far too heavy for backpacking purposes, but it is a good set for car camping. I came across this set on clearance at a discount store. Very heavy gauge metal and slick non-stick coating make the set very functional and durable. This has become my go-to cook kit for car camping purposes.   1 large pot (~1.5 gal.) with built-in handles with a lid 1 smaller pot with lid 1 shallow pan Full review

Outdoor Products Coffee Press

rated 5 of 5 stars Simply great! This is the simplest, most compact, best quality coffee maker I've seen. I use it several times a day and love it. The only thing i don't like is the lid's drinking spout. I drink really hot coffee, but drinking hot coffee from the lid burns my upper lip. I don't need the lid often, so not much of a problem for me! Full review
