Kupilka 21

rated 4 of 5 stars A drinking vessel for home, work, or the wilderness for those who prize traditional styling. Not for ultralighters except as a luxury item, but this cup is good quality, easy to use and clean, and satisfying to use. For quite some time I was obsessed with gram shaving, an addiction that seems to befall some backpackers inclined toward such madness. There is a glee in weighing all of one’s gear, and for some time I was content to carry a TOAKS titanium mug (450 ml/15.2 oz; weight: 92 g/ 3.2 oz)… Full review

Open Country 3 Cup Hard Anodized Pot

rated 4 of 5 stars After years of using 1-quart pots for solo cooking I have discovered that 3-cup pots are all I really need. Why heat nearly 4 cups of water when 3 is all you need? Why carry a larger pot that takes up more space in your pack? I got this pot rather "by accident" when I ordered it with the Trail Designs Sidewinder titanium Caldera Cone stove. That stove required this pot to properly mate with its top diameter. What I discovered was that I really did not need a 1-quart pot for solo cooking. The smaller… Full review

REI Doppio Stainless-Steel Tumbler

rated 5 of 5 stars Great cup that coffee shops love to work with, especially for small drinks like espresso or cortados. Feels like a regular cup, not a travel cup. I bought this cup because I love cortado coffees and wanted an appropriately sized reusable cup. It fits easily in my bag or pocket. The cup is one of the few I found that has a smooth rim so that drinking without the lid feels like a well formed coffee cup. Plus it impresses all the baristas because it is a great shape for steaming and adding the milk! Full review

Primus Meal Set

rated 5 of 5 stars Primus meal kit: the strainer/cutting board is fantastic. Includes bread cutter and cheese grater, oil bottle, spice holder. OK as far as lunch boxes/meal kits go. You have this or the Light My Fire meal kit. What makes it for me is the strainer/cutting/chopping board/cheese grater. I think that is really brilliant. Whereas the Light My Fire strainer/chopping board is just that, the Primus meal kit strainer does make a great bread cutter and grater. Also the oil bottle is a fantastic idea. It… Full review

REI Folding Utensil Set

rated 3.5 of 5 stars I originally bought these out of curiosity, but I have learned to respect these utensils. I bought these utensils as a curiosity, but I have found a good home for them.  Every time I have used them, I have found them more than adequate for utensils. The bowl is small for a spoon, and the thickness of the chopsticks are very thick.  The thickness of the chopsticks are throwing off my chopstick use, but with practice they will work fine.   The place were these shine is in packability. You can't… Full review

P-38 U.S. Military Can Opener

rated 5 of 5 stars Indestructible, handy. Opens any size can, seconds as a flat tip screwdriver, opens paint cans using the flat side to pry the tops off, like a can of Johnsons paste wax. All military personnel have shined floors with that stuff... Civilian version is much larger and able to apply force easier. Full review

P-38 U.S. Military Can Opener

rated 5 of 5 stars P-38 I have a P-38 on every keychain I own. Some I bought and some were included in cases of C rations from the early '70s. The are ALMOST indestructible and having one can be very useful in the field or in the office. Get one and learn to use it. Full review

P-38 U.S. Military Can Opener

rated 5 of 5 stars Swiss army of the can openers. Actually, it was a gift from a fellow eBay seller many years ago. I've kept it all these years in a slit like pocket of Leatherman Core's cordura pouch. Since it is relatively small and almost two-dimensional when folded, it can be carried in anywhere. It's been a long time since I dropped my canned food from my backpack, but hey, you never know when an unexpected grab-and-go trip happens and all you can do is buy a few canned food from the market and go. They are… Full review

Hydro Flask 64 oz Wide Mouth Bottle

rated 4 of 5 stars This is a hyped-up thermos. However, I use it when on the road, as glass growlers just don't cut it. One can still put it in the cooler, or not. I've had beverages stay cold over 24 hours and hot soup for about 18 hours. Like the review, it is good when you can purchase for less than $50. Will last a long time. Dropping will dent and eventually kill it. Needs a carrying handle/case. Full review
