I bought this jacket through Sierra Trading Post on a close-out. It has rubber coated shoulders and waist where your pack straps rest. The rubber coating makes this area 100% waterproof, prevents pack straps from slipping, and resists abrasion. The VaporWear fabric keeps me dry from rain and breathes quite well. My one complaint is that it is heavier than most shells, and the two chest pockets are tiny.
