Summary

I got a pair of these about three weeks ago from Danner's Breakroom.

Pros

  • Very sturdy but still pretty light

Cons

  • Very stiff to begin with heavy socks help break in

These shoes were a little stiff to start with. The first few days I wore them with thicker socks to help with breaking them in. This is the first pair of Danners that I have had much of a break-in period. My other two pairs were pretty comfortable right out of the box.

After I get them broken in good I think that they will be an excellent pair of shoes. I will be updating in a few months.

The Cloud Cap Low was designed for hikers who prefer to hit the trail without high ankle support. But that's where the differences end. From the ankle down, this boot features the same rugged build of the full-support version: Synergy heel system, co-molded underfoot plates, full-grain and nubuc leather, and 100% waterproof GORE-TEX(R) liners.
