Feathered Friends Rock and Ice Parka

rated 5 of 5 stars Love this jacket! I cannot use words to say how beautiful this warm parka is. I am warm. It is so hard to get warm. For a small, cold female, this is the solution to anything in winter. Camping in the snow? Yes. Summiting Everest...well, that's what it's meant for but I can't say that there is a product in existence that would do that for me. However, this jacket is so good that I feel like I could test it in colder temps. I've never trusted a product enough to do that.  Full review

Arc'teryx Thorium AR Hoody

rated 5 of 5 stars The Thorium AR does exactly what it intends to, which is keep you very very warm and comfortable for a low weight penalty. Buy this jacket if you want a near a perfect insulation layer for weather below -5°C (23°F) that packs small and feels like wearing a cloud. First things first, this jacket excels at its intended use. If it's cold but dry, it's great. If it's wet or the wind picks up you WILL need a shell over it (down + water = bad, it isn't incredibly wind resistant). It's designed to be… Full review

The North Face McMurdo Parka II

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Yet again TNF cut corners on all the import parts and what makes a parka "A" Parka. I was hoping that TNF would listen to people's gripes about the McMurdo Parka, but alas "NO". They still build them to the same junk standards. If only they would listen the TNF Mc could be such a great parka. Even the Alpha Industries N-3B Parka has better features at a third of the cost. TNF keep making things to this standard where they never correct issues past or present. Whoever is designing their parkas has… Full review

Patagonia Men's Primo Down Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Absolute best jacket I have ever owned. Very warm but also vents well when needed. Great for cold skiing but also stylish enough for work or town when it is cold. Well worth the money. Absolute best jacket I have ever owned. Very warm but also vents well when needed. Great for cold skiing but also stylish enough for work or town when it is cold. Well worth the money. There are enough pockets for anything you may need but they are hidden well. The fit is baggy so consider sizing down. The jacket… Full review

Rab Men's Neutrino Endurance Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars A perfect weather shelter. Light, versatile, warm, resistant, and uncomplicated. This jacket offers top protection from the elements. With water resistant down and a generous quantity of it, the jacket easily beats much more expensive ones. Its weight is ideal and it tucks aways in a second. Hood is generous and allows for helmet, chin protection with fleece, and a great zipper. I personally love cuffs that do not have inner and tights cuffs inside (we wear gloves in the real world, inner cuffs… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Men's StretchDown Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great jacket. Super lightweight and packs down very small. It layers extremely well under a shell for skiing or hiking. The stretch is extremely underrated; the entire jacket really moves with you. Not warm enough below 25 degrees when not active. Great jacket. I'm 5 foot 6 and 165 lbs, I wear a medium. The jacket is just the right size to be able to wear a fleece or sweatshirt underneath the jacket. Sleeves are a little long, but not too long. The jacket stretches much more than I anticipated. XPOSURZONE Packable Down Quilted Puffer Jacket

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Inexpensive China made down jacket. Weighs under a pound, has two outer zip pockets and huge inner glove pockets. Wear in cool to cold conditions - layering!! XPOSURZONE Men's Packable Down Quilted Puffer Jacket Lightweight Puffer Coat FrontBack Fit & ComfortI got a size XXL. I am 5 foot 9 in (175 CM) under 200 pounds. Fits OK, not loose. Not long enough—so you need to wear your shell (or use a sleeping pad when sitting by the fire or your gas cook stove melting snow or just cooking hot… Full review

Filson Down Cruiser Jacket

rated 1 of 5 stars Tried to order online, got transferred to the Seattle store, and when I received the jacket discovered they charged me "sales tax" (which is not required in Oregon). Called to discuss with Seattle store salesman and was told there was nothing they could do so paid full retail plus $70.20. Will definitely not buy anything from the Seattle store again; word of warning to watch what they charge if you order online. Full review

Black Diamond Men's Cold Forge Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great cold weather layer. For those that have read my reviews, know that I won't review unless I have had the product for more than a year.  With that said, I used this jacket under a Gortex shell as my mid-winter guiding jacket pretty much all of last winter down to -25°C. There were times when I had to remove the shell because I got too warm.  I also never managed to snag it or rip the outer material. Luck? I like the long length for covering my kidneys and the high collar for tucking my chin… Full review
