Big Agnes Late Lunch Vest

rated 4 of 5 stars Big Agnes has applied their knowledge of down to their foray into apparel. The women’s Late Lunch Vest uses 700 fill power DownTek water repellent down, and they have applied their Insotect Flow vertical baffles which are designed to keep the wearer warm. While the down does shuck water, and the vest is warm, a major drawback is the vest’s fit. Warmth, durability, quality—fantastic! Fit…mmm – needs some tweaking. Company Specs Mid-weight down vests with contoured fit and drop tail 700… Full review

Patagonia Men's Ultralight Down Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars I had never owned a down vest before, but the Patagonia Ultralight Down Vest is worth the investment. I have found that this vest can be used hiking, biking, around town, working outside or downstairs in my basement (very cold)!! It is an excellent core warmer and doesn't weigh anything. You forget you have it on. I would recommend this as an important part of your outdoor apparel. The Patagonia Ultralight Down Vest is going to become a favorite new piece in your outdoor collection. The vest is… Full review

The North Face Men's Nuptse Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars More than enough for anything short of Arctic conditions, this vest has far more utility than I hoped for. This was a clearance item, an impulse buy, and a dam'd good one. I have never bought a down vest in 50+ years of backpacking, so this is a new experience for me. This thing was very warm when I tried it on in the store. Seriously, I have never warmed up so fast from a single piece of clothing (the small store (<1500' sq) was very cold as the AC was on full blast). Between this and my Marmot… Full review

Outdoor Research Aria Down Vest

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a great vest that is warm and lightweight. It is a favorite of mine on and off the trail. The Aria Down Vest by Outdoor Research is one of my backcountry staples. I bought one last year and, due to its versatility (and multitude of color options!), convinced myself to purchase a second one this year! Unlike other down vests I have tried, the fit is slim — it doesn't turn you into a marshmallow — but not restrictive. It's warm yet lightweight and the hood gives me an extra layer of warmth. Patagonia Special Edition Quilt Again Vest

rated 5 of 5 stars Warmest down vest I have ever owned! Warmest down vest I have ever owned. It's quite bulky, but has an extremely soft interior, fits to size, warm interior of hand pockets. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice piece, pricey but worth it! Its collar is just tall enough to not be annoying, but covers the back of your neck nicely. Full review

Outdoor Research Aria Down Vest

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This was my best purchase this year! The vest is stylish, lightweight, toasty warm, and fits great. The hood is comfortable and functional. The vest compacts easily and pops out ready to wear, looking good as new! I bought this vest in basic black and it is so stylish that I wear it everywhere with everything! It layers well over sweaters, flannels, and thermals AND is sleek enough to wear under my other coats for extra warmth, comfortably, without looking bulky. The vest itself, fits great, is… Full review

GoLite Men's Beartooth 650 Fill Down Vest

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A great vest for all seasons! This is a quality down best at a fraction of the price other brands. I wore this through a Colorado winter and spring and found myself grabbing it before my other jackets. It comes with a stuff sack and compresses down pretty small. It is durable and fits well. The only thing that bugs me is the lining in the collar, but I'm being really critical. Golite products are well thought out, it's unbelievable how inexpensive they are, therefore I Golite! Marmot Zeus Vest

rated 4 of 5 stars Surprisingly warm for the weight. Great for layering in camp. Turns into an amazing sleeping bag pillow. Get it if you find it on sale. Not my first choice for a down vest, but it is a great product. I'll admit it. I'm a pretty big fan of down. I have a few sleeping bags and jackets of all types, so when I found this for $66 total price in one the local outfitters, I thought why not. I got orange since I'm a UT fan, naturally.  I am 6'1" and 180 lbs, athletic, Medium to Large torso length. I got… Full review

MontBell Men's Alpine Light Down Vest

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Well fitting super light core insulator. This vest is 800 fill with a lighter ripstop shell with dwr finish. It has  two internal dump pockets, (great for gloves or something you want to keep warm or dry out) and two fleece lined zippered hand pockets (down on the outside of the hands when inserted.) It has a drawstring hem with cord locks and a 3 inch fleece lined collar. I got a medium and the fit is snug (5.10  175 lbs) but the larger arm holes alow lighter layering underneath without restriction. Full review
