While these straps are useful and have served me well, there are better products out there. I have used these so many times, but I recommend other suspension systems over these.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Pack small
  • Stuff sack included
  • Strong material

Cons

  • Hanging options
  • Stretch out/draw up
  • Small end loop

These straps have served me well, but I would recommend other products over these. In, fact ENO has recently put out a new system called the ATLAS straps, which are a lot better (although a bit heavier).

The SlapStrap Pro straps are very limited on their hanging options, meaning that there's not a whole lot of customization to the tension that you hang your hammock. You will find yourself hanging and re-hanging your hammock a lot with these straps.

Also, these straps stretch out quite a bit. You can have your hammock hung at the perfect height and perfect tension and wake up and be basically sitting on the ground (especially if it's raining or heavy dew)!

The end loop is quite small on these straps which can make it frustrating having to feed the other end through the loop to wrap it around the tree.

I have also had one of the loops break on these straps without coming anywhere near the weight limit on them. That's kind of frustrating as well, because not only do you end up on the ground, but when you hang your hammock again, you are even more limited to the hanging options.

A few good things about these straps is that they come with a stuff sack, pack up small, and are very lightweight. The material is durable in these straps, but the design leaves them fault after a period of time, which  I believe is why mine broke.

This is not a close up picture of the straps, but it will help you get an idea of how they work!

Great product with variable length for easy hammock hanging.

Pros

  • Variable length
  • Holds a double hammock
  • Easy to pack

Cons

  • Can be difficult to set around wide trees
  • Takes a while to break them in

The SlapStrap Pros are all black, and come neatly packed in a nylon parachute bag. You will never have them packed as neatly as when you purchase them, but they do fit neatly in their bag. They are very durable and easy to set up.

On the con side, as they break in, they do need to be reset for you to keep your hammock comfortable. They can also be difficult to hang around wide trees, and a wider tree gives you fewer options for how to hang your hammock.

Overall, these are great straps. They are no nonsense—just straps and loops. With many loops available, the SlapStrap Pro gives a wide range of variability in height or anchor to hang your hammock.

A hammock suspension system by ENO.

Pros

  • Easy to set up
  • Simple
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Little versatility compared to other systems
  • Stretch over longer periods of use

These work well, pack up easily, have a very simple setup, but the nylon stretches if it's used for more than a few hours. It is very easy to wake up with your butt on the ground using these.

I still keep mine around for lounging around parks, the backyard, and whatnot, but I have upgraded for camping.

They work well. Just probably better for someone smaller.

Pros

  • Many attachment points
  • Simple to use
  • Durable

Cons

  • High elasticity

These straps seem to work well. But I am a fairly large person. These straps will stretch an amazing amount overnight. Nothing like waking up in the am on the ground.

I was given a set of Atlas straps for Father's Day and if you're a good size person pass these by and go ahead and get the Atlas.

The ENO products are fantastic. I highly recommend the ENO SlapStraps Pro and the ENO Pro Fly or Dry Fly tarps @ $69.95. You won't be disappointed.
