rated 5.0 of 5 stars
photo: Eberlestock Sawed-Off Hydro Pack daypack (under 35l)

Great day hiker for bowhunters or other hunters, for that matter. Small profile, big abilities! With the amount of accessories available, super flexible for specific tasks.

Pros

  • Good all around size
  • Plethora of accessories
  • Well padded straps
  • MOLLE mounting everywhere
  • Integral 3L bladder
  • Multiple camo/color patterns
  • Hunting specific design

Cons

  • Weak buckles
  • Small size for some
  • Limited capacity for some
  • Smallish hip belt

I was looking for a day pack that I could not only use for day through hikes, but, as a hunting specific pack when the need arises. With the accessories available, this pack is an excellent hunting pack. I have scabbards for both my shotgun and my Mongolian Longbow that attach right to the pack.

With a large top loading compartment that measures almost 900 c.i., I have plenty of room for rain gear, knives, tools, etc. Having a built-in 3L water bladder is a huge plus!

My only issue with this pack has to do with he hip belt. It is EXCEEDINGLY thin with zero padding...in fact, the buckle on it broke off clean, necessitating a visit to the Eberlestock store for spare buckles. Otherwise, with light loads, the well contoured shoulder straps and sternum strap are perfect for loads under 20 lbs. With a 20$ small camo pack cover, which packs up to 3", keeps your gear dry. I've used this is every type of weather, and, it's come through just fine!
