Black Diamond Spot

rated 5 of 5 stars Great value, extremely bright, and adjustable brightness. Black Diamond claims you can see 80m with this light, I haven't measured but I can attest to being able to see at least 5x the distance compared to my old cheap no name headlamp. There are multiple setting for the lights. The close range low power light has a wider beam, allows you to see your immediate surroundings quite well. The full power lamp has a much more focused beam, great for distance. Batteries lasted me for a few overnights haven't… Full review

Black Diamond Orbit

rated 3.5 of 5 stars It's lightweight and small. Puts out good light for cooking or reading at night. I like it. It fits my needs if I ever use it that often. I usually use the Snow Peak Giga lamp knockoff that is four times brighter, but it also uses a canister to fuel it and mantles that are getting harder to find. I still use a UCO Candle Lantern when it's cold in my tent, so I am still an analog light person. I bought a box load of camping gear at a thrift store for $5. Had an MSR DragonFly stove a SweetWater filter… Full review

Xiaomi Power Bank 20000 mAh

rated 4 of 5 stars Very capable (but large and heavy) power bank with two-way QuickCharge support and dual USB output. Nice and simple design, but no case or pouch for carrying. Mostly useful for owners of power-greedy equipment, such as action cameras. Background In my outdoor trips I prefer avoiding the situations when I need a power socket for charging my electronic devices. There are many of them: smartphone, a couple of headlamps, health tracker, GPS navigator, DSLR camera, and every year this number grows. At… Full review

HALO Pocket Power StarLight 3000

rated 1.5 of 5 stars I have two of these and one does not charge. The other charged my device for about five minutes and then was dead! GARBAGE! I tried to use it once. Only held charge for 24 hours and could not charge another device. The other must have a bad connection as I could not get it to charge. Full review

Seattle Sports SurviVolts Power Bank

rated 5 of 5 stars The power bank, 5000 mAh capacity, can recharge a cell phone or power an included set of components useful for lighting or emergency signaling especially. It is compact and portable, although not ultralight. My initial impression is quite favorable. The basic power bank seems to be a 26850 lithium-ion battery with an integral small flashlight, potentially quite useful if you ever need to assemble the other components in the dark. Four blue LEDs indicate the charge status. Other components are: a… Full review

Mammut Lucido TX1

rated 5 of 5 stars Minimal extrinsic-battery headlamp (meaning a giant step stronger than lamps with emitter/lens and battery all in one housing, but a giant step weaker than regulated-supply lamps with heat sinks and more or bigger cells), the TX1 is ideal for ordinary, non-critical activities that don't involve high risk or high speed. Spot is concentrated, floods are broad, both are fixed-focus. Margo Costan has a screw loose. Anyone with two functioning brain cells understands this perfectly capable headlamp isn't… Full review

Suunto X9i

rated 1 of 5 stars Save you money—poor manufactuer support! This GPS device was made to support the Suunto brand directly by not providing their product through general retail outlets, and to make the product sealed, preventing customers changing their own battery. This device must be sent to the local national Sunnto-owned and operated office for battery change. This product is priced-fixed through Suunto authorized dealers only. A MAP price is forced on those Suunto-authorized dealers.  They are not allowed to… Full review

Renogy E-Flex10

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Renogy E.Flex 10 Folding Solar Panel with USB offers affordable, lightweight, packable, solar to economically power electronic devises at home, on the go, or in the backcountry. The Renogy E-Flex 10 arrived in a small but smartly packaged box. The panels were folded and couched in foam cutouts. Beneath the panels were two small 1.85-inch carabiners, four 1.25-inch suction cups, and a bifold instruction pamphlet. The technical information can be easily acquired from Renogy’s website. For purposes… Full review

Black Diamond Moji XP

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Works excellent when hanging. Best for car camping. This review is for the 2016 150-lumen Moji XP. I really like aspects of the Moji XP. It is elegantly simple. It seems very sturdy and well made. The light tint leans yellow instead of blue. But due to some flaws it is not an ideal lantern. Hanging above a picnic table the Moji XP it is excellent. The light output is bright enough to comfortably light a table. The warm even light is ideal for eating a late meal. The lantern is not bright enough… Full review
