First, I returned this pack because the torso length wasn't long enough. But I sure wish it had fit better. This pack is a steal: an internal frame pack with one aluminum stay, an HDPE framesheet, well-designed suspension system, and a storm collar, for a hundred bucks. (I got it on sale at their web site for $85.) This is the Long Torso version, which should fit people with 18-21+ inch torsos. They also make a regular and short-torso version. (I have a 22+ inch torso, and though the pack fit okay, the non-adjustable shoulder straps were not as comfortable as I wanted.)
This pack is very well made, with all the seam edges taped inside and out, and it should stand up well to a lot of hard use. It has an internal pocket for a hydration system, a small zip internal pocket for a wallet, and a key snap. It is a top loader, with one compartment (no sleeping bag opening), with a floating lid with two zippered pockets. It has load lifters on well-sculpted shoulder straps.
The pack is also huge -- I think it may be a larger than 3000 ci. I could easily fit everything for a 3-4 day trip (I pack pretty light, but not ridiculously so), and the pack easily handled the 30 pounds. This would be a good pack for winter day hikes or skiing, where you have to carry a lot of extra stuff that you may not need.
