User Review: EMS 5000 (1997)
Rating: ![]()
Design: internal frame
Size: 5000
Number of Pockets: main and bottom sections can be openeded into giant pack + detatch. fanny pack as top cover
Max. Load Carried: +/- 50 lbs
Height of Owner: 6' 2"
Price Paid: US $200
Adjustable shoulder and hip straps were tough to get positioned right at first but, once in place, were very comfortable. I was amazed by how much I could get into the pack on a recent four-day trip. The detachable fanny pack was very useful and comfortable as well for day trips. The pack is too complicated not to come with some type of users manual. The many straps and buckles are a bit overwhelming.
*I was surpised that one sales person at EMS actually tried to talk me out of buying this pack in favor of a non-EMS type. Her experience with EMS packs being uncomfortable was something I, myself, cannot agree with.
