This jacket pretty much sets the standard for me. It was the first softshell I've ever bought and it's done well. On a three-day trek into the Chat-Oconee in the cold and constant drizzle I had no discomfort or soak through from water. Dryskin is a great fabric choice, even with this jacket not being insulated, I have no trouble keeping nice and toasty on the inside. Heat retention is top notch. I'd give recommendations to anyone needing a lightweight piece that can hold its own against some of those $400 dollar Super Jackets out there. Even on 30 degree nights it cuts chill like butter.
