The Candle Lantern is still the best lantern around. I've tried butane and propane backpacking lanterns and they are all to heavy and too cumbersome. This lantern is cheap to buy, economical to run, easy to carry and weatherproof. It's a 4-season lantern for camp utility and ambiance, and it is ideal for keeping hoar frost from forming in your vented winter mountaineering tent.

"Illuminates a tent surprisingly well. Outdoors it is completely impervious to wind and rain. I like it enough that I often use it at home for mellow lighting in the living room."
