This pack works very well for long extended hiking trips. The longest I went was four days in the ADK's. It's not too great when it gets wet. I recommend a rain cover for sure. It has plenty of room for storage, and feels terrific on my back, no complaints there, which is basically a determinate factor for a succesful pack. I definitely recommend this pack for spring-fall hiking and camping.
