"Base-camp life requires compact tents to sleep in and a larger shelter for communication and medical functions. The versatile Tundra Dome, which is literally two tents in one, serves both needs. The freestanding outer shell has its own snap-in floor (sold separately as the Tundra Dome Floor Insert) and provides a spacious 67-square-foot shelter for group functions. The outer shell is much easier to set up in high winds than a traditional rain fly. This outer tent also includes a large 12-square-foot vestibule for storage and kitchen use, plus a smaller 5-square-foot rear vestibule. To create the double-wall 48.5-square-foot sleep shelter, simply clip the inner tent to the outer, working from the inside; conversion takes just two minutes. The double-wall construction is well vented to minimize condensation for a drier night's sleep. 16 total pockets, plus vestibule space, offer more stash room than some New York apartments.
