Potatoes with leeks, corn and cabbage in a cream chicken sauce. Sounds good right? Not so fast....

  • Rehydrates well

  • Over-seasoned with something

This was the first time I'd tried a meal from Enertia and may be the last. And it's a shame, too, because it sounded so good.

First, the details:

  • 1-serving
  • 410 calories
  • 14 oz. of water needed

The list of ingredients can be seen here:

SUPER high in sodium: 1390 mg. Whew!

I've been doing some field testing of various backpacking foods and found this at A16 in West LA. It was $5 and sounded pretty yummy.

The meal rehydrated very well—the potatoes themselves were pretty good. Even the kernals of corn turned out well. But the sauce was over-seasoned with something strong (rosemary?) and over-all was scary salty. I thought the taste was reminicent of Stove Top Stuffing.

My taste test starts at 10:59 on this video:

I think everyone has their own taste and perhaps someone will absolutely love this. But I did not and am reluctant to try other meals by Enertia Foods.
