Libby's Seasoned Beef Crumbles

rated 4 of 5 stars Trail Tacos beat chicken and mashed potatoes any day. Yes, it does look pretty gross coming out of the package... the spicy version looks and tastes better. Add it to red beans and rice and enjoy an outstanding meal. Opens up way more recipe options. So tired of chicken and mashed potatoes and salmon and couscous. Been taking more dried beef or salami but dried beef gets expensive fast. Now granted you're not going to mistake this even for a McDonald's Burger, but after a few days on the trail,… Full review

Backpacker's Pantry Mashed Potatoes & Gravy with Beef

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Love it, potatoes are great. Make sure to really stir after adding water. One of the better packaged meals I have backpacked with. Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent taste, easy to prepare, with just enough bite on a cold evening. This is the second Good to-Go meal I have tried. On a snowy Lassen campout last weekend, it sounded like the perfect tummy warming dinner. The taste did not disappoint. Just the right amount of bite to warm things up without being oppressive. Prep was easy. Empty the coconut milk packet into the pouch, add boiling water and stir, wait 20 minutes (beer time!), and eat. I finished feeling completely warmed and satisfied. The… Full review

Packit Gourmet Dottie's Chicken & Dumplings

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Finally, after 40+ years, some good...strike that...fantastic food for the trail. Prep: Almost as easy as it gets...just add hot water, drop it in an insulated bag for a while, and it's ready to go. Flavor: As good as it gets. Portion Size: Hope you're hungry! Three grown men could barely finish two servings. Price: Better pricing than the brands you'll find in stock at "insert your favorite backpacking supply store here". Honestly, after using the Packit Gourmet meals, snacks, drinks, and condiments… Full review

Mountain House Macaroni & Cheese

rated 1 of 5 stars Avoid this meal unless you are looking for bland soup-like mac & cheese. Recently went on a four-day camping trip with my son, nephews, and brother. Typically my brother and I bring fresh food for our meals. However, since we had some picky eaters we decided to let the boys pick out their own meals. I knew from prior experience that these are really only enough for one person so each person had their own meal. I chose this meal for one of my dinners. First off, it is extremely easy to prepare,… Full review

Libby's Seasoned Beef Crumbles

rated 5 of 5 stars I liked this very much, bought all Dollar store had. Makes good tacos, and just right size for one person. Bring back to stores; can't find any. Tastes good, easy, yes, yes, yes, yes, all. Great, put more in stores. Full review

Good To-Go Classic Marinara with Penne

rated 3 of 5 stars Pretty good flavor, but pasta doesn't rehydrate well. I had been looking forward to trying this out on my recent Rainier trip.  Prep is easy... just put boiling water in, stir, and wait twenty minutes. After twenty minutes, I gave it a try. Some of the pasta was still a bit crunchy, so I stirred some more and let it sit another ten minutes. Some of the pasta was STILL a little crunchy. So I stirred some more and waited another ten minutes. By this point, the pasta was mostly "al dente," and I was… Full review

Mountain House Chicken Stew

rated 3.5 of 5 stars This tastes very good. It's very convenient when out camping when you don't want to be weighed down by a ton of groceries. Very easy and quick to prepare. I like to pack Mountain House for camping/hiking. It's lightweight, quick/easy to prepare, and you don't have a ton of garbage to pack out with you when headed back to civilization. The chicken stew tastes good and is so easy to prepare. It is very filling and 1 pouch could easily feed two people. I would recommend this product to campers/hikers,… Full review
