Eureka! Apex XT and XTA

rated 4.0 of 5 stars

The Apex XT and XTA has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best three-season tents for 2024.

Easy to set up and big enough for two people, both of whom get their own door and vestibule. I'm about 6'3" and 235 lbs and the tent is long enough for me to not be crammed up against the ends. Great venting system and good wind performance and sheds water like a duck.

My only (minor) complaints are that I'd like a color other than vivid yellow, and it's a little heavy for a long trek. However, since it sleeps two, you and your partner can split up gear and tote this 6.5lb tent pretty easily.

I got the XTA, with aluminum poles; the XT with fiberglass would probably be a little lighter and $10 or $20 cheaper. Mine was $130 before Eureka's 2003 $30 rebate, so it cost me $100 even.

Design: Freestanding dome
Sleeps: 2
Ease of Setup: Very simple
Weight: 6.5 lbs
Price Paid: $130 with aluminum poles (XTA)
