User Review: Eureka! Assault (1998)
Rating: ![]()
Design: 3 season +
Sleeps: 2
Ease of Setup: easy 3 smooth poles and easy sliding pole sleeves
Weight: about 8 pounds
Price Paid: $199 closeout
Overall it seems like a good tent. it seems to have mid to heavy stitching and plenty of reinfocments. It also has a few guy line ties on the outside. It is really easy to set up and one has the option to set up only the ground cloth and the fly, making for a good summer shelter. The front vestibule is large enough to do things in and the rear will store a couple of mostly empty packs.
One thing that I find is in temperatures close or below freezing I have alot of condensation build up on the inside of the fly, especially if you can't open the vestibule doors very much (snow or rain). but I could easily sew a couple of vents on it. Even though it is not rated as a four season tent I will say that the tent cannot support even moderate snowfall before it starts getting smaller inside. It has never colllapsed though, even with 3 inches of wet, early season Montana snow one night piling on top of it.
