Eureka! Silver City 30ºF

rated 4 of 5 stars
photo: Eureka! Silver City 30ºF 3-season synthetic sleeping bag

The Silver City is a very good spring-summer-early fall sleeping bag. It packs down extremely small, keeps you warm enough, but not TOO warm. I'm a very warm sleeper, so I wanted a bag that would be just warm enough that I would be comfortable sleeping in in any weather.

Like the other reviewer said, if it gets much colder than 30 out, this bag will be cold. If all you plan on doing is mostly summer backpacking, or are a rather warm sleeper, this bag is a sweet deal. Great price, great size, awesome sleeping bag.

Temperature Rating: 30 deg F
Weight: 2 lbs
Price Paid: $60

This is a 30º and no more (or less?). If it's below 30º I'll be taking a different bag. I am a cold sleeper though. It's also fairly narrow in the waist. I'm 5'10 and 190lbs and It's as snug as I care to be. If any larger, I'd go with the long version.

For a warm weather bag, I would think it very good. Packs very small and doesn't weight much. Just don't ask it to more than it promises.

Design: mummy
Fill: synthetic
Temperature Rating: 30º f
Weight: 2 pounds 3 ounces
Price Paid: $70ish

This bag delivers what it promises. The compression bag, the hood that is in the back of the bag so that you can use your fleece or sweatshirt as a pillow and it will not slide away, rip stop nylon, and nice draft tube are great.

Storage of your gear is important, leaving it stored in a fluffy state is key and stuffing it into the bag are key. For those who complain about being cold, you may not have stored it properly or got into the bag with moisture in your clothing and that did you in. I have enough room in this bag that I can turn and move with out being constricted.

This bag did live up to its rating for over three years now, good durability, easy to clean and quick to dry. Excellent bag vs price; best value of many bags that I have seen.

Design: Silver City regular
