User Review: Eureka! Tundraline 3
Design: Four season canoe tent
Ease of Setup: Inner sleeping room is sewn in place for easy setup
Weight: 12 Lbs
Price Paid: $217
I have been big fan of Canoe Guide, Cliff Jacobson's material since I got in to camping. I found out he helped with the design of the Tundraline tent and decided to purchase one. I can tell you I am not disappointed and as a matter of fact I am ecstatic! The pictures do not do the tent justice as the quality is first rate. Everything is heavy duty.
When I received my new tent, I set it up in the backyard for a test run. Little did I know a cold front was coming through that brought heavy rain and winds gusting to 30 mph. As I looked out the back window of my house, all I could see was rain spraying off the tent roof like waves. I had left the tent doors with the just the mesh panels and was sure I would find a soaked interior once I opened the vestibule. When the rain slowed, I grabbed a towel heading out to wipe things down from water getting in.
To my surprise not one drop was in the tent. This tent took a pounding and never looked back. I currently own other tents that I don't think would have faired as well. The only thing I saw move during the rain storm was the roof between the poles and it didn't move much. The design is impressive.
Other than the weight (comes from being build so tough) there is nothing to complain about. As another reviewer did, I replaced the tent stakes with heaver duty 10" nail spikes for better grip.
