First, let me say that the current XTT Pants offered by Ex-Offico are 8% Spandex, and yes, it makes a difference (I have both). This review is for the 8% version.

Comfort: XTT is the perfect name for these pants. These are more comfortable than any other pants I have tried (except fleece).

DWR-Coating: This coating has degraded over time, with many washings, as all DWRs will, but after ~50+ washes it is still reasonably water repellent.

Breathablity: This is another area where the XTT shines.

Insulation: This pant has a very thin insulation on the inside. This is my go-to pant for winter snowshoeing, backpacking, and car-camping. I regularly wear the Ex-Officio skivvies (a very-thin base) underneath in 20 degree (F) temperatures and am quite comfortable. Also, due to great breathablity, I can wear them in temperatures of up to 70 (F) without overheating.

Durability: These pants have been worn for casual use about 1-2 times a week for 1 year as well as continuously during several trips of up to 5 days. They are extremely durable and show few signs a wear. The pants are a bit long for me and thus are dragged on the ground frequently, but they haven't frayed at the base!

There are two minor issues though. The insulation has been rubbing off and bunching into little "nuggets" in the groin area. Also, the webbing that fastens the outside button frayed, but I melted it with a lighter and now it's just fine. Overall, these are very minor issues and are really just normal wear and tear.

Fashion: You can wear these and not look like a hiker. Great looking!
