Exped SynMat Hyperlite

rated 5.0 of 5 stars
photo: Exped SynMat Hyperlite air-filled sleeping pad

Equal and improved compared to Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Light. Rolls up tight and small. And most importantly, it doesn't bottom out on you like on most air pads.

Pros

  • Half the cost as the top brand
  • Doesn't bottom out
  • Folds up small
  • R rating of 3.5
  • Weight of 12 oz
  • Can put two air pads together to make larger pad

Cons

  • Not as well known as Therm-a-Rest

Well well well. I purchased one of the best air pads for half the cost of a Therm-a-Rest and could have not been more pleased with this product. Very rarely do I find a pad that doesn't bottom out, so I was surprised to find this. This pad is equal to the Therm-a-Rest with the bones of being half the cost and having the option of using the Schnozzel.

All my gear reviews have now been hiker tested during my recent 35-day hike on Quebec's very wild Appalachian Trail.
