Kelty Men's Coyote 4900

rated 4 of 5 stars A bomb proof pack that does it a little on the heavy side. This product is best for 2+ day expeditions in any terrain. I would recommend this to a friend with a larger waist. The pack fits excellent and true to size. I however have a smaller waist and even with the straps fully tightened it is a little too big around the belt. I have hiked with this pack on multi-day treks and it is very comfortable. Everything is adjustable. The torso adjustment came in very handy seeing I have a longer torso. Full review

Osprey Xenith 105

rated 4 of 5 stars A big pack. Understand that it is mostly one compartment. There are not lots of small pocket on this thing. Meant to haul a lot of gear, this thing is big, but in a wide and out kind of way. It is not much taller than most other 60L Ospreys, but goes out much further instead. Bought this pack for a PCT section hike. This thing is big. Went on an overnight. So far works well. Make sure hip straps are high enough. Mine were to low and bruised me. Good pack for longer trips, but too big for just a… Full review

Gregory Stout 75

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This pack is a beast. If you have a lot of volume to carry this is the pack for you. Remains comfortable with a heavy load. Pocket arrangements allow for organized packing. The Gregory Stout fits quite well and sits comfortably on shoulders and hips. That being said I do not wear a belt when backpacking as the pack drives the belt into my hips, which is uncomfortable. Hip belts and shoulder and sternum straps are all adjustable and easy to adjust on the fly. The foam on the back and hip belts provide… Full review

Mystery Ranch T-100

rated 5 of 5 stars Best well built and comfortable pack you will ever find. First, let me say that this is one great comfortable well built pack. The way this thing rides on my back is like no other. (I own a Kelty Red Cloud, Osprey Atmos, and a couple smaller packs.) The craftsmanship of this pack is way above the others and carries loads of 40 – 60 lbs very easily. It will carry more but that’s all I have put in it so far. It adjusts well to form a comfortable fit on my back no matter the load size. The sleeping… Full review

Lowe Alpine Contour IV 90+15

rated 5 of 5 stars Outstanding pack at a great value. Would absolutely buy another, if mine ever fails that is. I purchased this pack in the year 2000 from Campmor. It has literally traveled the world with me, from New Zealand to Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, and ultimately to Alaska. I have done everything from 12-day backpack trips to epic moose and caribou hunts. I have packed out two moose and two caribou with this pack. The internal frame sustained a load of nearly 175 pounds over several miles (possibly more). Full review

REI Traverse 85

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Functional. Comfortable. REI stepping up their mid-high end packs. Fit: I'm right in between the M and L size, so it was suggested that I go with the L. After playing with a few settings, the pack fits like a glove and load is secure to my back with little shifting. Comfort: Great ventilation. Shoulder and hip straps are very comfortable and mold well to my body. Capacity: I originally picked up the Traverse 70, but hiking with kids, I needed some added space for more gear. 85 seem perfect for the… Full review

Jack Wolfskin Trail Head II

rated 4 of 5 stars Love the pack. A friend found it for me and I've been using it every day for many months. The two top zippers finally broke, but the rest is in top shape. I've been homeless for 2 years and this is the best pack yet. It is very comfortable, even when I have over 50 lbs. in it, which is quite often. Full review

Deuter Aircontact 75+10

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great expedition backpack. Works exceptionally well under heavy weight for long distances. Pack is very adjustable, giving me the confidence to carry a heavy load and navigate over tricky mountain terrain. Very good construction and materials, creating a durable and strong pack. Looks good. After research on the Deuter Aircontact 75+10 and discussion with others on the mountains. I made the purchase last fall and have come to love this backpack and give it monumental trust. I noticed a prevailing… Full review

Cerro Torre Kodiak

rated 5 of 5 stars Tough as nails. I have had this pack for about 11 to 12 years, and it has been out in the snow for ski backpacking several years, camping in Florida, Oregon, Washington, Appalachian Trail, simple car camping, backpacking—you name it. This thing looks brand new. It's been beat, rained on, blizzarded on, sweated to death in humidity, used probably 60 days a year for 11-12 years. AMAZING PRODUCT. Even the clips were easily repaired if they got smashed in airports. I can't even say more than what… Full review
