BodyGlide Anti-Chafe

rated 5 of 5 stars BodyGlide can be a real problem solver for the skin discomfort bane of many outdoor adventurers, blisters and chafing! Provided that the gear has the right physical design, non-aggressive surface texturing, and size for you, test this as your potential solution. Basically it makes your skin surface less wettable, thus less swellable. And it adds some tenacious slick, slipperiness that can be washed off later. Smoother skin texture, with better skin glide, literally allows the problem to slide away. Full review

Ultralight Backpacking Titanium Cathole Trowel

rated 5 of 5 stars Leave No Trace is a backpacker's greatest responsibility. Digging a cathole has become easy thanks to ultralight titanium trowels. They do not break like the orange plastic ones. They are super light, do not take up any space in a pack, carrabiner to the outside. Not too expensive. Everybody that backpacks and poops in the wilderness should have one. I got tried of the cheap, stupid, orange plastic cathole trowels that break all the time. I would end up using a stick, and it takes forever to dig… Full review

Dr. Bronner Liquid Soap

rated 4 of 5 stars Dr. Bronner's liquid soap has been a backwoods staple for as long as I can remember. This pure castile soap (meaning it is made using vegetable oil) is environmentally friendly and smells great. I was first introduced to Dr. Bronner's pure castile soap when I was about 8 years old. Back then, it was a camp staple as it was environmentally safe, and so could be used in the pond as well as the showers (try getting a hundred 8-year old boys to shower. Having them jump in a pond is much easier!). INGREDIENTS: Castile… Full review

TheTentLab Deuce of Spades

rated 5 of 5 stars Great trowel, gets the job done at the same weight as titanium trowels, but for about 1/3 the cost. Thanks for the review, TJ. I wouldn't have thought there is so much to say about a trowel! I own one of these as well, got it off the original Kickstarter campaign. From your pics, TJ, it appears the final product went through some very minor design mods between the Kickstarter campaign and full retail. The little hole at the top of the handle on mine is not a "starburst" shape, and frankly I wonder… Full review

TheTentLab Deuce of Spades

rated 5 of 5 stars Overall, the Deuce of Spades is a cleverly designed latrine trowel that is incredibly lightweight, very strong, and takes up a very minimal amount of space. Makes an excellent gift for the backpacker who has just about everything. According to the manufacturer:" The Deuce of Spades is an ultralight backcountry latrine trowel that’s also the only trowel in the world that can be used right-side up AND UPSIDE DOWN. It only weighs .6 ounces but it’s super effective and ridiculously tough." Initial… Full review

Coghlan's Biodegradable Camp Soap

rated 4 of 5 stars It's a handy, portable, fairly effective soap. Easy to transport, not very messy, doesn't smell too bad and isn't too harsh. We got the chance to try this soap out on our annual coastal car-camping trip. First time, we approached it from a 'try and see' standpoint, figuring that if it works well, then we can stop lugging along actual dish soap, which would be an improvement in many ways. Short answer: We'll be taking it along again in the future. Long answer: This is a pretty reasonably performing… Full review

Dr. Bronner Eucalyptus Organic Bar Soap

rated 5 of 5 stars Let Dr. Bronner improve the way you stay clean with this Eucalyptus Pure-Castile Bar Soap. A soothing organic scent and an awesomely smooth lather. An all-in-one soap that has quickly become my favorite. I first read about Dr. Bronner’s on a hiking forum. It was mentioned only briefly so I decided to check out their website. I placed an order for a couple of bars of soap, shaving cream, and a bottle of liquid soap. I have been using Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Bar Soap for over 12 months now. Full review

Atsko Sport-Wash

rated 4.5 of 5 stars After using my tent and storing my tent in my bag and forgetting all about it—leaving it in my Forerunner for a week, while it was still wet—when I pulled it it out and saw how wet it still was, I could smell the mold. So I hand washed it with vinegar, which worked well and then I found some Sport Wash at the local True Value. After a good hand wash and some rinse, hanged it to dry on the clothesline. It came out just like new! Now I just did my 80 liter pack and it came out really well too. Full review

Climb On Bar

rated 5 of 5 stars Not just for climbers!!! This all natural, chemical free product helps repair sore fingers and knuckles. "If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin." Climb On! has been accompanying me on all of my camping trips for the last couple of years, as well as helping me out any time my hands get in rough shape. It's antiseptic, antimicrobial, and healthy on so many other levels!  Ingredients: Unrefined yellow beeswax apricot kernel oil essential oil of lavender grapeseed oil virgin wheat germ oil… Full review
