Dr. Bronner Eucalyptus Organic Bar Soap

rated 5 of 5 stars Let Dr. Bronner improve the way you stay clean with this Eucalyptus Pure-Castile Bar Soap. A soothing organic scent and an awesomely smooth lather. An all-in-one soap that has quickly become my favorite. I first read about Dr. Bronner’s on a hiking forum. It was mentioned only briefly so I decided to check out their website. I placed an order for a couple of bars of soap, shaving cream, and a bottle of liquid soap. I have been using Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Bar Soap for over 12 months now. Full review

Atsko Sport-Wash

rated 4.5 of 5 stars After using my tent and storing my tent in my bag and forgetting all about it—leaving it in my Forerunner for a week, while it was still wet—when I pulled it it out and saw how wet it still was, I could smell the mold. So I hand washed it with vinegar, which worked well and then I found some Sport Wash at the local True Value. After a good hand wash and some rinse, hanged it to dry on the clothesline. It came out just like new! Now I just did my 80 liter pack and it came out really well too. Full review

Climb On Bar

rated 5 of 5 stars Not just for climbers!!! This all natural, chemical free product helps repair sore fingers and knuckles. "If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin." Climb On! has been accompanying me on all of my camping trips for the last couple of years, as well as helping me out any time my hands get in rough shape. It's antiseptic, antimicrobial, and healthy on so many other levels!  Ingredients: Unrefined yellow beeswax apricot kernel oil essential oil of lavender grapeseed oil virgin wheat germ oil… Full review

Adventure Medical Kits Travel Medic

rated 2 of 5 stars Save your money and put your own kit together. After taking a wilderness first aid course I decided to put together a backcountry first aid kit. This seemed like it could be the core of a lightweight kit. There were some antiseptic wipes and alcohol swabs, which were nice but there were also a few packets of typical medicine cabinet drugs that were near expiration. There were low-end adhesive bandages that are next to worthless as they won't stay on. Worst of all was the moleskin, pre cut — hope… Full review

Tick Key The Tick Key

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This product is great way to remove ticks if prevention falls. It is painless and helps reduce disease transmission by reducing the chance a tick will regurgitate. You can even use it on your pets. Gear Review: Liberty Mountain Tick Key For today’s post, I will do our first gear review. The piece of equipment under review is the Tick Key by Liberty Mountain, which has become an important tool for both BeeGee and me. This tool is one our essential pieces and always goes with us in our first aid… Full review

Podsacs Waste Management System L

rated 4 of 5 stars A dry bag with little features that make it ideal for carrying out both synthetic and human waste from the wilderness. Perfect organizational tool for managing waste and practicing the Leave No Trace philosophy. The product is well put together and more than adequate for the task. So what are these? Well basically they are a dry bag that has two enclosures to prevent leaking, and a bright red colour and warning sign not to be mistaken for anything else! They are intended for storing and carrying… Full review

U-Dig-It Folding Hand Shovel and Trowel

rated 4 of 5 stars A sturdy folding trowel for doing trowel-related business. Not exactly UL, but it won't break or bend even when prying rocks or chipping at compacted soil. Needless to say, this was a very popular item on our 8-person, 24-day hike on the JMT. The U-Dig-It Pro handled all that traffic with aplomb, allowing for safe and adequately deep deposits of bodily fruits in the Sierra's tough, rocky soils. My daughter kept it on one of the compression straps on the outside of her pack so it was always available… Full review

Sawyer Extractor Pump Kit

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the only proven snake bite kit on the market!!! This is a very nice kit for stings and snake bites. It is the only one proven successful on the market. The others are dangerous. The Sawyer only pumps the wound/bite area. The others use old school methods that do worse than good, like cutting the bite area and using a tourniquet. This is very dangerous. This kit comes with everything to clean/sanitize the area, razor to shave hair in area, and a powerful pump to draw out venom/poison with… Full review

Bison Designs Capsule

rated 5 of 5 stars I use a statin for elevated cholesterol and it comes in the form of small pills. I needed a way to carry the pills in all weather all the time so I tried the Bison Designs Capsule. It's a small (comes in three sizes) aluminum tube with a rubber O-Ring seal on the lid. It works GREAT! In fact, I once forgot to take the capsule out of my pants and sent it through a complete wash cycle in our machine and the pills were dry and fine. This is a simple, durable and effective device if you need to be certain… Full review
