Patagonia Men's Dual Aspect Hoody

rated 2 of 5 stars Good jacket, but not worth the money you pay for it. I got this jacker after my R3 was stolen. The R3 I had was high loft Polartec and I used it under a shell with a short sleeve under it during the Canadian winter months. It was heavy but warm and I gave away my down liner that came with the jacket. Reading reviews and knowing Polartec I went with a Double Aspect Hoodie. Up to - 15° it is very comfortable under a leather jacket (not a shell). I still have to test it with a shell. In Europe it… Full review

Paramo Taiga Fleece

rated 5 of 5 stars Super warm and very soft and comfortable jacket with a silk-like lining and lots of pockets. Fit and comfort is great. It's not too tight and you can easily fit an extra layer underneath, though I tend to use it with just one tee shirt or base layer under. It has a high collar and good zip and front poppers on the zip and wrists so as to keep all the nasty wind out and with the drawcord waist it's easy to cinch it in around the midriff to keep very toasty. It has a super soft feel to it and is noiseless,… Full review

The North Face Men's Khumbu 2 Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars Looks big for me, but fits perfectly. It is super comfortable. Super warm, so it is perfect after a cold day to warm up the body and take out the moisture. Stops the wind and keeps the body warm. I really like it for second layer or for the last layer if is a cold day not raining or snow day. Zippers are always well made with North Face. I am using this jacket for almost a year and every time I like it more. Full review

Arc'teryx Acto FL Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Tough as a work-jacket, breathable as a fleece. So the hood is just ripstop nylon with no fleece backer, so you really need to wear a hat or hooded baselayer with it, and it's a bit crinkly and loud. That said, its adjustments are perfect, and it never inhibits peripheral vision. Also I find myself wishing it had hand warmer pockets, but both of these nits i'm picking are intentional on Arc'teryx's part, being as this jacket is the FL, Fast & Light version. The construction is classic Arc'teryx,… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars Good one. Very warm for dynamic activities, still has its role in a winter layering system. The jacket is very stretchy, allowing full range of arm movement, and it has some strategic Polartec Powerstrech panels in key areas. Shines in chilling autumn temperatures when you can just pair it with a t-shirt. Has a little wind resistance. Very soft and pleasant. Full review

Patagonia Men's R1 Full-Zip Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Best sweater I ever bought. Three years old and worn a lot, still in mint condition. fit and comfort: superb breathability: best moisture: stays dry  warmth: R1 quality Super second layer pockets and zippers: best construction and durability: Still in mint condition after a lot activities and several times in the washing machine. The North Face Men's Denali Hoodie

rated 5 of 5 stars There is a strong reason why everyone has one of these jackets either hooded or the jacket. Perfect for mild winter days, transition from winter to spring, fall to winter, and rainy days. This is by far the best versatile jacket you could buy. Since I have both a hooded and non-hooded version, both reviews are the same. I first wanted a Denali ever since I was little, but my parents said it was too expensive for a silly fleece. Let me tell you, it’s not a silly $99 or $200 fleece. I was able to… Full review

MontBell Men's Chameece Inner Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A very nice lightweight fleece garment. I'm a big fan of lightweight fleece garments. They breathe well, are warm (even damp), dry quickly (can be wrung out if necessary), and are relatively inexpensive. When I'm on the move and need a mid-layer to warm up, it's extremely tough to beat a lightweight fleece—especially in damp conditions. The Montbell Chameece Jacket is one of the lightest fleece jackets I've found—8.6 oz in Men's Large. Full zip w/ one zipped upper chest pocket. You can save… Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Transition Hoody

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Outdoor Research Transition Hoody is a bare bones fleece that integrates perfectly into a 3+ season layer system. Highly recommended for hiking, snowshoeing, ski touring, fat biking, or around town. I tested the Outdoor Research (OR) Transition Hoody between Fall 2016 and Winter 2017 in the White Mountains region of New Hampshire. Temperatures ranged from the mid 50s to just below zero. The Transition Hoody was part of my layer system while hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, alpine touring,… Full review
