The New Primal Beef Sticks

rated 4 of 5 stars There is no mystery meat in The New Primal’s meat sticks. 100% grass fed beef with no preservatives. Free-range turkey meat. Starting with 100% grass-fed beef and free-range turkey, Primal has taken the market by storm with their new single serving beef and turkey meat sticks. By using hormone and antibiotic-free ingredients, these meat sticks offer real meat, not a mystery blend. Both the beef and turkey are low in sugar and salt, gluten-free. and contain no genetically modified organisms (GMO). Full review

The New Primal Turkey Jerky

rated 1 of 5 stars I bought this at Safeway just by looking at the ingredients. This is the worst jerky ever! Expensive for 2 oz. Thought maybe the taste etc would make up for the price, not so. I purchased the turkey jerky. This was expensive, but thought if it makes up in taste it would be OK. Do not like the taste. Also instead of strips it is crumbles, not what I was expecting.  I have one oz left which I plan to return to Safeway. Full review

EnergyBits and RecoveryBits

rated 2.5 of 5 stars EnergyBits and RecoveryBits use algae as their main ingredient, an energy dense food source. A good substitute for the standard protein bar. I often am offered the chance to try new and unusual products, EnergyBits and RecoveryBits definitely fit into this category. Both products are made from 100% algae. The Energy Bits one ingredient is spirulina algae and the Recovery Bits are comprised of chlorella algae. While this may seem an odd choice for consumption, algae is one of the most energy dense… Full review

Lawless Jerky

rated 4 of 5 stars Lawless Jerky offers beef and pork jerky that’s handcrafted and all-natural. All of the 100% grass-fed beef and all-natural pork used to make Lawless Jerky is hormone and antibiotic free. All the jerky marinades are comprised of all-natural ingredients and they are nitrate and nitrite free, contain no MSG, and do not use corn syrup. Great taste in a small package. Rather than producing jerky in huge batches, Lawless prefers to make its jerky by hand in micro-batches in its Arizona facility. I… Full review

Good To-Go Pad Thai

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the latest addition to a line-up of six Good To-Go "all natural, dehydrated gourmet" meals. I found the product to be a fresh, healthy, and tasty alternative to the ever-growing line of pre-packaged, dehydrated backpacker meals on the market. I would highly recommend this product for those looking specifically for an all-natural, gluten-free, pescatarian option. And since I'm a huge fan of Thai food, this is a well-received addition to my own outdoors pantry. The only downsides are the higher… Full review

Good To-Go Indian Vegetable Korma

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is the latest addition to a line-up of six Good To-Go "all natural, dehydrated gourmet" meals. I found the product to be a fresh, healthy, and tasty alternative to the ever-growing line of pre-packaged, dehydrated backpacker meals on the market. I would highly recommend this product for those specifically looking for an all-natural, gluten-free, vegetarian option. It works well as both a stand-alone meal and as a side dish. The downsides are the higher retail cost and longer re-hydration time… Full review

Hammer Nutrition Endurolytes Fizz Tube

rated 4 of 5 stars Hammer Fizz is my go-to ingredient in my bottles. Replenishes electrolytes and helps prevent cramps. I give it 4 stars. If the taste was completely non-bitter, it would be 5 stars. Highly recommended. I am a road cyclist, and Hammer Fizz has become the primary ingredient in my water bottles. For many years I have used maltodextrin (et al)-based drink mix. No matter how I prepared them, even combining several mixes, I found them either too light or too syrupy.  For long rides here in the Northeast… Full review

Hammer Nutrition Perpetuem

rated 5 of 5 stars This has been my secret to sustained energy and endurance on very long hikes and bike rides. It has everything you need to not "hit the wall" in your last mile! I swear by it! I have tried almost every sports drink on the market and this still tops out at #1 for me. Single serving packages seen here. This is marketed as a fuel source for extreme athletes and a product that will utilize fat storage for energy sparing the muscles of increased rate of atrophy. I have used this and other Hammer products… Full review

OvaEasy Whole Egg Crystals

rated 5 of 5 stars Tasted even better than fresh eggs, super easy to prepare, stayed fresh for months. I'm aware the OvaEasy eggs have been reviewed many times on Trailspace, almost uniformly positively. Heck, it's why I decided to try them. I just have to add my "Yea!" vote. It's so nice to find a product that works, isn't super expensive, and makes camping and backpacking just that little bit more comfortable. In January of this year, I took Nutriom.com up on their introductory free-shipping offer to buy one small… Full review
