Have been using Julbo glasses for years. After deciding to spend a little more, I was very impressed. I used the Julbo Sherpa glasses for years. Went through maybe three pairs. My own fault for letting them get destroyed. But they always worked great. The wrap around the ear holds them very secure and comfortable. The tint of the lens works in high light and low. The removable side blinders make the glasses great to drive with without loosing peripheral vision. The Micropore are just so much more… Full review
I wear Ray Ban Aviators for driving (55mm lens width; 14mm bridge width; 135mm temple length). With the bridge width of 24mm on the Micropores, I thought they would be big but they fit fine and are very comfortable. Moldable temples are nice for dialing a good fit. 12/3/16 hiked up Mount Moosilauke. On the summit I layered up and put on my Julbos. It was about 20mph winds with gusts to about 35mph and temps. about 15 degrees. The Micropores fogged a little but cleared quickly. The glasses developed… Full review
Quite possibly the best glacier/mountaineering glasses made. The Julbo Explorers build on an already impressive history of quality from the French company. The Julbo Explorer is probably the best Julbo product I have used. As a professional wilderness adventure guide, ski guide, and mountain trek leader I have used numerous Julbo glasses over the years (25 to be precise) and the Explorers are the best I have ever used. The adjustability off the stems, and the bridge makes these have an exceptional… Full review
Great bang-for-your-buck glacier glasses. I used these glacier glasses daily for 45 days on an icefield expedition. Fit: They are comfortable under a helmet, beanie, or hat. These glasses run wide, so if you have a narrow face, consider trying them on before purchasing. The piece that goes behind your ears has a bendable wire in it that you can mold to whatever shape you like to make the glasses stay on better. The retention strap slides off easily as soon as your sunscreen lubes up the frame, so… Full review
Nice and dark, but the arms are rather flimsy. After over a year (two I think) of wearing these glasses I am torn; they are decent enough to keep, but not decent enough to love... just okay enough to keep. Tint: I love the darkness. They are too dark to wear during normal activities, but perfect on the glacier. Coverage: The coverage is great, never a sunburn under my eyes. They also manage to keep from fogging up, a nice feature. UGH! Every time I wear them the arms make the tops of my… Full review
For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a pair of Julbo glasses. For several decades I've wanted to own a pair of Julbo glasses. Not because they work so well, but because they look so good and so like "professional mountaineer" equipment. They were on special at one of the camping outlets, so I picked them up. The first thing I noted was these glasses are verrrrry big when folded — I did not have a glasses case that would fit them. The case they came in could carry a medium-sized camera… Full review
High altitude eye protection, style, and comfort win the day with the Julbo Explorer. I would recommend these glasses for hiking, trekking, biking, kayaking. Don't forget how important protecting your eyes in high UV light is! I purchased these glasses for a trek to Mt. Everest in 2012. I bought them well ahead of time in order to test them out hiking in and around Vegas. I also used them kayaking, golfing, and biking. Notice the vents below the lens and near the temple. They are not as effective… Full review
These are a very good pair of sunglasses for everyday use, but they really excel in the bright sunshine and high glare conditions of snow and ice covered terrain. I use them scrambling, hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. The Julbo Tensing Sunglasses are the ones I use most days. They are comfortable, lightweight, well-vented (although from time to time they have fogged up), and though they seem flimsy, these glasses have been through some rough treatment without any problems. They are… Full review
These glasses are fantastic!!! Great fit. Great performance!!! I have very light sensitive eyes and these glasses are a god send. They fit extremely well without pinching my nose or behind the ears. I recently took them with me to the Himalayas where I spent a week outside in a variety of conditions (snow, rain, blazing sun and heat). I rarely took them off and didn't feel I was squinting nor did I get headaches. Though my memory of the mountains is a bit darker than what they really are :). The… Full review
