Outdoor Research Lodestar Sensor Gloves

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great hand protection for most any active cold weather pursuit. Contoured design provides comfortable grip and dexterity to perform tasks without removing the glove. Ventilates well for high activity applications in cold, dry environments. Soft, articulated, goat leather palm and finger with Polartec PowerShield covering the back of the hand. Note the extended cuff length giving them a gauntlet sort of feel. Outdoor Research has put a lot of thought into the redesign of their Lodestar Sensor gloves… Full review

Chaos CTR Glacier Air Protect Glove

rated 4 of 5 stars A great lightweight ski glove suitable for spring skiing or winter nordic use. Touch screen compatible index finger. For those of us who ski well into May, the need arises for gloves that protect your hands while not overheating them. I was lucky enough to receive a pair of the CTR Glacier Air Protect gloves for testing just as temperatures started to rise at my home ski area Squaw Valley. With daytime temperatures rising into the mid 50's at the ski area wearing my regular winter ski gloves was… Full review

EMS Rampart Soft Shell Gloves

rated 3 of 5 stars A basic, lightweight soft shell glove for activities in milder winter temperatures. A synthetic suede palm reinforcement helps protect from wear from pole or shovel handles. Patches on the index finger tips give touchscreen compatibility. I bought these because my other softshell gloves (Seirus Windstopper Cyclone) were too warm, and the pile lining would get wet with sweat. EMS had them for 50% off, which was a nice bonus. The glove is very basic, without fancy features. There's no lining so you… Full review

Dachstein 4 Ply Boiled Wool Alpine Mittens

rated 5 of 5 stars The warmest wool mittens available! Excellent mitten liners for extreme cold. Proven on many mountaineering expeditions for decades. These mittens are legendary. Made in Austria of 100% wool they are knit from 4 ply wool yarn and boiled on a form until they are very dense and thick. I bought my Dachstein boiled wool mittens in 1978 for $45. In 1979 I was a National Nordic Ski Patroller at the '79 World Cup Nordic games at Lake Placid, N.Y. (the "Pre-Olympics") Temperatures that week were mostly… Full review

Seirus Windstopper Cyclone Gloves

rated 5 of 5 stars The Seirus Windstopper Cyclone gloves are warm, lightweight, and allow for amazing dexterity. They wick away moisture like crazy and are very quick-drying. I was looking for a more technical, slimmer profile glove to replace my very warm but bulky wool gloves for snowshoeing, and saw the Seirus Windstopper Cyclone at a trading post in Greenville, Maine. I wore them today while snowshoeing in temps around 10°F, with wind chills of around -10°F, and my hands weren't even thinking of getting cold. Full review

SealSkinz Windproof Gloves

rated 4 of 5 stars These are great gloves that really are windproof. I wore them on a 26-mile hike in all weather conditions and my hands stayed warm. These gloves are great! Just like it says, windproof. Kept my hands warm on an all weather trek with high winds and rain and my hands stayed warm. I have Raynauds so it is really important to protect my hands from wind and cold. These gloves did the job. I used the sizing chart provided and ordered a medium. I should be gotten a large. Even though these fit, going up… Full review

Pearl Izumi PRO Softshell Lobster Glove

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Pearl Izumi Lobster Glove is an insulated, wind and waterproof split-fingered glove that combines the warmth of a mitt with the dexterity of a glove. After many years of use, primarily as a cyclist, I've found them to be a great piece of clothing for other uses. Fourteen years ago I was an avid road biker, riding in all four seasons, as long as roads were passable. This caused me to ride many days in sub-freezing temperatures. Enter the Pearl Izumi Lobster Gloves. I would regularly ride using… Full review

Stoic Forge Glove

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Even with the weird, bright color, I love these gloves. My favorite after years of searching. I've worn these gloves for 2 very snowy and wet months on Mt. Hood. When I first got them, I thought they were a bit stiff, but they broke in nicely. The fit and comfort level are great and the wrist cinching system — though basic — locks out cold and snow. I don't agree with other reviews that they aren't very warm. I think the wool liner, though not removable, is toasty, and they dry well after use. Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Stormtracker Gloves

rated 4.5 of 5 stars An excellent softshell glove that provides great dexterity, comfort, and protection from the elements. I would most certainly purchase these gloves again without a second thought. Glove Model: OR Storm Tracker Glove Type: Softshell (Windstopper) Target Comfort Range: 15/35 degrees Fahrenheit (-9/2 degrees Celsius) Size: XL (S, M, L, and XL available) Gender: Mens (Womens also available in S, M & L (black/charcoal only) Color: Black/Charcoal(Chili/Charcoal also available) Weight: 5.9oz.
