Gregory Sungem

rated 2.0 of 5 stars

The Sungem has been discontinued. It last appeared in Gregory's Fall 2010 product line. If you're looking for something new, check out the best hydration packs for 2024.

I expect Gregory products to be of certain quality. Alas, was a bit disappointed with the durability. Design wise what I like most is the twin bottles and the ease to assess the bottle.

Pros

  • The twin bottle design
  • Fit

Cons

  • Not durable
  • The small opening to put the hydration bladder
  • Weight

Fit is comfortable for ladies. Weight wise is heavier than some hydration bag, given that it is a 8 litre bag with padding, but still ok.

Durability of my bag is poor. The interior laminate of the bag wears off too easily and the seam near the compression string is tearing apart. I bought it new and only used it twice for trail running, duration of 3 hours, about 1.5l water, but some parts of the interior are wearing off, the side seams are also tearing off. The opening to put the hydration bladder is a little too small to fit in my bladder.

I am only happy with the twin bottle system where i can easily assess the bottle without removing the bag, and put it back in as well by feel.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the quality, my previous Dipsea has no issue.
