Here's what other sites are saying:
From Moosejaw:
"Grivel Sabre 40 Thin Piton (Fall 2007) The Sabre 40 Thin Piton by Grivel is an extra flat piton that looks similar to a knife blade. Two thicknesses are available: 3/16 (thin) and 1/4in. (thick). These offer good holding power in horizontal cracks and are the staple piton on an alpine climber's rack because cracks of this size easily fill with ice and nuts this thin won't hold much of a fall. The length of the piton is marked (in centimeters) near the eye so if you encounter one that's fixed you can tell something about it. Still, nothing beats a in.hammer test,in. which hopefully delivers a satisfying ringing sound. Each piton was measured at the point maximum thickness, the base of the eye. Specifications: Weight: 52 gm Size: 40 x 4.7 mm Materials: ChroMoly Steel Construction: Stamped Fat Blade Style Piton"
