Clark North American

rated 4 of 5 stars I would recommend this to all people backpacking in harsh conditions. I got the standard sized tarp, but would recommend a larger tarp to stake out for cooking and such. I have used this in 70 to below 30 degree weather. I have found it warm, dry, and comfortable in all conditions. I would like to know how well it works on the ground, and have heard you can set it up that way. I pack my sleeping bag inside the hammock for drier set up and quicker set up. This is the easiest hammock I have had to… Full review

Sierra Madre Research Pares

rated 5 of 5 stars A really comfortable hammock for tall people, the quality from Sierra Madre is great and the Pares hammock is built with durability in mind. The fabric is different from any other hammock I've tried, and at 10.75' in length and 6.5' in width it really has a great diagonal lay! The unique stuff sack really compresses the Pares hammock down nicely, almost to a softball size. Product: Pares Hammock from Sierra Madre Research or SMr  Color: Green Chives I am 6' 2" at approximately 195lbs Setup: Because… Full review

Hennessy Hammock Hyperlite Asym Zip

rated 5 of 5 stars This hammock is the absolute best and lightest hammock system I have tested and used on the trail. I highly recommend it. The weight rivals that of a tarp tent but the sleep it affords is unbeatable. If I could pass along one bit of advice, it would be to practice extensively with setups at home before you take it to the woods. A hammock is not a hanging tent, and if approached in that manner, will lead to disappointment the first time it is used. Everyone has their own sweet spot that allows them… Full review

Grand Trunk Ultralight Hammock

rated 4 of 5 stars Very well constructed lightweight hammock. This hammock weighs about 9 oz and packs down smaller than a football. I have slept in it before but I think a Hennessy or an ENO would be better for camping (personal preference) because I'm more of a tent person. However this hammock is great for naps or as a hammock chair or a seat off the ground in the woods. Full review

Simply Light Designs Streamliner SL

rated 5 of 5 stars Light, that's what I was looking for and exactly what I found, but the distinct bonus you may not think of when choosing a gathered end hammock is one of the features that makes this my go to hammock for backpacking. Quality workmanship, the material of your choosing, and exceptional personal service is what makes buying equipment from Jared at Simply Light Designs a no brainer! For those of you who enjoy getting off the ground and swinging above the ground in custom comfort Jared could just be… Full review

Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro

rated 3 of 5 stars Decent starter hammock, comfortable and adequate. If you hang out on the East Coast, get one. After many times watching the sun get lower and searching around for a decent tent pad in SNP and surrounding areas, I, one day, encountered a fella comfortably hanging in a hammock. Thinking back to the many times of tent pad searching and noting the huge amount of trees available, I decided a hammock was worth a try. Totally worth it, especially in SNP and I assume other East Coast parks. On to the hammock… Full review

Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest

rated 2 of 5 stars Overpriced for what you get, sizes are deceiving. Unless you get it at a significant sale price, there are other choices out there that are just as good. I own a number of hammocks, and the ENO is the more expensive than any of them and gives no advantage in quality for the extra price. My most expensive hammock is a Yukon Outfitters double, which, although its specs say that it is the same width as the ENO, is fully TWO FEET wider than the DoubleNest. It is also two feet longer. So unless you are… Full review

Byer Amazonas Hammock

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Amazing product for the price, super light (under 16 oz). Still in pack, though it's only good during warmer months. No rain guard, but that's nothing a good tarp won't fix. To start, I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to backpacking trips, but am already in love with it. I've found that through years of camping there's always a rock or funky angle that a tent sits on when you want to set camp somewhere besides the "pads" set up for specified sites. So I decided to go for a hammock. I found the… Full review

Amok Draumr

rated 4 of 5 stars Camp in a bag, setup in less than half the time of any other tent I have seen. Extraordinary breakthrough in hammock design. There is a learning curve. This is a limited first edition Draumr by Amok.  This is a new start up company out of Norway that has come up with a revolution in hammock camping. First shipped end of July 2014. While the overall design is brilliant, there are a few issues that need to be considered before investing in this camp system. Compared to setting up a standard two-person… Full review
