Therm-a-Rest Slacker Hammock House

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Slacker Hammock House is the “grand slam” Therm-a-Rest needed to prove they are a worthy contender in the hammock market. The Hammock House is both a reliable all-in-one system and an exceptional value for the money. I came away from this test greatly impressed and eager to recommend this system to anyone looking to start backpacking with a hammock. Because I feel the need to discuss each component of the Hammock House in detail, this is a very long review. If you are not a detail-oriented… Full review

Out Gear Recreation Singled Out Hammock

rated 5 of 5 stars All around everyday hammock! I take this thing everywhere with me and compared to the competition, including price, quality of material, ease of use, and design it is the same or better on many levels. The straps and hammock all fit into one small package, easily manageable on day hikes, just chillin' or relaxing, or even summer camping! This is a must buy and is extremely comfortable! If you've never laid in one of these you'll definitely be pleasantly surprised!  Full review

Out Gear Recreation Singled Out Hammock

rated 5 of 5 stars High quality materials at a great price. My entire family has been using this hammock indoors for 6 months now and it's still like brand new. We love it so much we installed another one. Best backpack hammock I've tried. I love that it's made in the USA by a small business. Full review

DD Hammocks DD Superlight Hammock

rated 4 of 5 stars Extremely lightweight hammock. Pocket sized hammock you can basically take anywhere, super light, weighs just 300 g with tree straps and whoopie slings (included). Optional bug net is easy to install and use. Not the greatest for larger people (it has a 220 lb weight limit). I'm 5'10" and 185 lbs and have no problem getting a good night's sleep in it. Anyone larger might consider another hammock. Ships super fast from Scotland via FedEx. Packs up smaller than a softball, great for weight conscious… Full review

Dutchware Hexon 1.6 Fabric

rated 5 of 5 stars My bed of choice. My 11' hammock is made of "Hexon 1.6W".  I didn't buy the hammock from Dutch, but I did buy my material from him to make my own 11' netless hammock for about $30.  The material is incredibly durable, and comfortable. I had a $30 ENO-type hammock before this, and the hexon 1.6 packs down much smaller, weighs much less, and is more comfortable. My friends with ENO's have said that they're jealous of my size/weight/price ratio when compared to theirs. If you plan on making any of… Full review

Hennessy Hammock Ultralight Backpacker Asym

rated 4.5 of 5 stars UPDATE TO 2004 REVIEW: Nicely researched and developed products. They are comfortable and dependable. This is an updated review from many years ago. As I could not find my information from back then, I made a new profile. As I'm such a major fan of hammock camping, I thought I would submit another review and mention some additional points. When Tom was just starting out making hammocks, he and I had the pleasure of talking several times over the years. I was very impressed by his dedication to quality… Full review

Grand Trunk Double Parachute Nylon Hammock

rated 4 of 5 stars Wide enough to wrap around you and just the right length for great comfort. Our small, local outfitter carries Grand Trunk as well as ENO hammocks.  Both are comparable in price, quality, and choice of colors.  Where Grand Trunk excels is the perfect balance of size vs. weight for a parachute cloth hammock. The GT Double is wide enough for a low angle diagonal lay and not have to struggle with keeping your bag, pillow, gear, whatever, from falling over the edge. The GT Single is likewise comfortable,… Full review

Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro

rated 4 of 5 stars Only had it a few months, been canoe camping with it. It doesn't take up too much space. It does keep the bugs away. Easy to set up, took a little while to get use to sleeping in a hammock. Quick to set up while taking a break—us old timers need our daily nap. Learning more every time I use it. I believe this is a very good deal. Full review

Warbonnet RidgeRunner

rated 5 of 5 stars Why do you want a Warbonnet Ridgerunner? It lays flat, like a bed. It also lays flat, like a bed. Then there is how it lays flat. I just got my RidgeRunner today. YAY! Had to run it out and find two trees. I found two that were about 20 feet apart. I put up straps and connected whoopies. They said to have the RR sag close to the ground, it will lift when you put the Spreader bars in. It lifted. I went over, laid into it, and ended up on the ground. I had it hanging way too low. I tightened, and… Full review
