Herman Hollowpoint

rated 2.0 of 5 stars

The Hollowpoint has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best footwear for 2024.

I don't know why all you guys are whining... I spent the week breaking in these new Hollowpoint boots. Feet stayed dry all day and very comfortable boot, lightweight with GREAT traction.

After inspection, not one sign of any failure. Tread cleared easily. It does not matter what tread design you have if the snow is wet and sticky. I suppose if you use these as your only boot and work, and do your daily Redneck duties Yes, failure will happen...To any boot.

These are designed to be hunted in, not your work routine. Yes it is a boot, but a performance boot. A corvette is a fast car, but take it offroad a few times and see what happens...Get it?

Overall a great designed bow hunting boot that works perfect here in the Pacific Northwest. Whatcom County, Washington. We have weather that will test any gear.

Herman — made in China - blech!!!

Pros

  • Inexpensive - Can be found for $30
  • Okay if you need to get out hunting one day a year as cheaply as possible.

Cons

  • Glued on soles are prone to failure.
  • You EXPECT more than this from Herman!

These are NOT the American made Herman Survivors that you remember if you are 60 years old!! Cheesy quality, honestly no better than Wally-Mart brands that you never heard of. K-Mart's Texas-Steer brand is better quality.

Sad! Make them in America again! Make America (and Herman) GREAT again!

Bought this boot for deer hunting. The second time I wore them the rubber tip over toe came loose about half way down. Have tried the shoe/boot glue a shoe salesperson told me about but no results. the glue would not hold.

I took them back to Wal-mart and they said there was nothing they could do, would not take them back or exchange them (seems like they knew something). I have used Herman boots in the past but am about to change to another brand.

I have bought these boots in years past for deer hunting. They don't seem to last more than 2 seasons and they start leaking. Bought a brand new pair for this years deer season wore them twice now they leak. If they are supposed to be waterproof why do they leak? I would like the company to send me a new pair guaranteed to be waterproof because this pair was defective.

A very comfortable boot however they are useless in snow conditions. The snow collects on the soles with each step and won't release until it's kicked off, usually against the side of a tree, log, etc. I bought them for deer hunting, and this is a huge problem.

I will not rate these [boots]. This is the second pair that have failed due to the adhesive being used to bond the sole to the upper part of the boot. This is a classic case of, you get what you pay for. Buyer beware!!!!!!!! Gord.S.

Price Paid: $59-99

I bought a pair of Herman Survivor Hollowpoint boots for deer hunting. Had no problem keeping my feet warm and dry, but had an awful problem if I was in snow or mud, everything stuck to the soles and wouldn't release.

Materials: gore-tex
Use: deerhunting
Break-in Period: short
