User Review: Herman Survivor
Rating: ![]()
Materials: Gore-tex
Use: outdoor work year...mostly winter...
Break-in Period: none...
Weight: !85
Price Paid: $28
The actual name on the boots are "Tracker". This is the second pair I've owned, and I bought them at the end of winter clearance sales in the local Wal-Mart. The price both times was too good to pass up...$28 each time. The first pair were 800grams of Thinsulate and the current pair are 600 grams.
The first pair lasted a year, which is average for an outdoor work boot. I'm a tree trimmer so these boots see unusual stresses when climbing trees with climbing spikes on them. The first pair were retired only because the lugged soles had worn smooth and too thin so that rough ground/gravel made walking uncomfortable.
Unlike the other reviews posted I have to say I'm more than happy with these boots, they're light, comfortable, and not falling apart, also no cold or wet feet...especially with all the snow we've had the last few days. Maybe I've been lucky but until I have a bad experience I will keep buying them...
