I have owned four pairs of Herman boots and shoes. They used to be the best in the world in my opinion. However when the company decided to have them made in China instead of the USA (sometime in the early '90s I believe)t he quality of the product went downhill drastically. My local dealer who used to be so proud to sell them would not even carry the company's products any more.
I just bought a pair of lighter steel toed boots for work (it's been 11 years since I bought a new pair of Hermans). I'll try to get back here and give a review of the made-in-China boot after I wear them for a while.
