My grandfather gave me a pair of Herman Survivors for Christmas 1966. I still have them (2006). I have worn them on and off for the past 40 years (hunting, ice fishing, winter snowshoe trips, etc) and they still are waterproof and keep my feet warm in 20 below. They were the best woodsman boots you could buy back in the '60s in upstate NY where I was brought up. You would never find a Herman today like the pair I own. Too bad.
