User Review: Hi-Tec Lightweight (1987, Women's)

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Materials: Fabric/Suede
Use: Variable - light to heavy use, on/off trail
Break-in Period: short (2 miles or so)
Price Paid: $50

Bought these at age 13 - 12 years later these boots are still kicking, though they are in need of resoling. I have used these for everything from hiking in tough terrain off trail with a heavy pack, to rock scrambling, impromptu horseback rides, and have even been used as wader boots for fly-fishing. They have been filled with sand while squeezing through narrows in Utah and completely covered in muck from the Sacramento River. I have only needed one application of moleskin for a blister in the entire lifetime of these boots (from a hike in Yosemite with a 3,000 foot elevation gain in 5 miles). Use them for everything short of technical mountaineering and save yourself some money.
