Columbia Saturday Trail II Convertible Pant

rated 4 of 5 stars Made of thin material, which is both good and bad. Coverts to shorts: awesome! Love that they convert to shorts if you get too hot. Had to use this feature last summer at the National Zoo in D.C. — instant relief. The material stretched enough that I didn't have to remove my shoes to turn the pants into shorts. Anything you put in the pockets shows up as a huge strange looking bulge, except the one pocket near the right knee. This includes thin wallets. Even a single credit card looks strange… Full review

RailRiders WeatherPants

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Pockets are too deep. These are not cheap pants. I could easily get two pair for the price of one of these, but they were so highly regarded I thought I'd give them a try. I bought four items and three didn't fit right. Repeated phone calls and emails to the company went unanswered until we sent a register letter. We returned all three items and two weeks later they resent one item in a smaller size but were completely unresponsive about the status of the other three. The pants fit nicely and are… Full review

Patagonia GI III Pant

rated 5 of 5 stars The Patagonia GI III Pant is a lightweight, quick-drying, durable pant that does a decent job of blocking the wind. The elasticized waist gives a comfortable fit, and the included belt helps keep them in place during strenuous activities. Two large handwarmer pockets, a large zippered cargo pocket on the right thigh with elastic lanyard inside, and a large zippered pocket on the right hip allow you to securely carry smaller items like a wallet, cell phone, compass, keys, etc. I picked up these pants… Full review

RailRiders Backcountry Khakis

rated 5 of 5 stars Very lightweight, excellent aesthetic (actually looks like something I'd wear to the office!), well designed pockets. Best for hiking or going on the town. Highly recommended for those who want quick drying hiking pants that can transition easily to other more formal ventures. I purchased these to use on an upcoming several day trip. Overall, the fit and finish on these pants is excellent.  Further, they're light, hang well, have normal belt loops (as opposed to the really thick ones on some hiking… Full review

The North Face Men's Paramount Convertible Pant

rated 4 of 5 stars Practical and comfortable, these pants excell in a variety of conditions. Got a pair of these a few years back, and still love them. I have done many backpacking and day hike trips in them, and they are still my "go to" pants in a variety of conditions. Some other reviewers have complained about the fit of these, but I find that they fit me perfectly. Some pants and shorts I've had in the past, have a tendency to be pushed down by my pack hipbelt, but these stay in place nicely, all day long. The… Full review

L.L.Bean TrioZone Pants

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This fleece pant was purchased as an alternative to insulated Gore-tex type pants, for activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, kicksledding, and skijoring. I have found the pants to perform better than I had expected, and they are used 4-5 times per week. I would recommend this product, especially if it can be obtained on sale (as is currently). These pants are very comfortable. I have previously owned fleece pants that pilled, and the fleece deteriorated...these pants have maintained their fleece… Full review

Montane Super Terra Pants

rated 4.5 of 5 stars These are rugged outdoor pants which can be used for many different activities. Durable, yet stretchy, Montane’s Super Terra Pants are comfortable in fit and feel. With plenty of deep pockets located nearly everywhere, having access to any gear or food on the trail isn’t an issue. Even with leg vents, I’d still recommend wearing these for cool/cold weather use as the material itself isn’t very breathable. Testing Process Montane claims that the Super Terra Pants can be used for several uses… Full review

RailRiders Men's Adventure Khaki

rated 5 of 5 stars A great pair of pants for traveling and light adventures, but still nice enough to wear into the office on Monday morning. Super comfy, unexpectedly tough, and quite stylish. The Adventure Khakis are the lightest pairs of pants I own. I have one in each color and I wear them several times a week. What I love about the Adventure Khaki is how lightweight and packable they are. You can crush em up, jam them in a bag, and pull them out hours/days later and they will be wrinkle free. They are super light… Full review

RailRiders Backcountry Khakis

rated 5 of 5 stars The choice for every adventure you can imagine. There are very few products that can so easily move from the trail to the street as well as these pants. I have taken mine, literally, from numerous backwater places all over the world.....then jumped onto a train, cab, or plane and was still considered respectable in every environment. With all of the benefits of style, quick-drying, tough-as-nails and proper fit..the choice for the ONE (or two) pair of pants for any and every adventure is so, so… Full review
