prAna Halle Pants

rated 5 of 5 stars Every time I see a woman browsing hiking pants in an outdoor store, I want to run up to her and tell her about these pants. (But that would be weird so I'll just write this review.) The cut is flattering, the fabric has stretch but is also sturdy, and after three years and many miles they still look brand new. Perfect for hiking, camping, backpacking, fishing, and around town. Prana's Halle Pants are my favorite piece of outdoor gear I own. Why do I love them? The cut is the BEST — seriously flattering… Full review

Kuhl Revolvr Pant

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Super comfortable hiking pants. I wear these on almost every hiking trip. Despite the price, I highly recommend them. After nearly biting the $85 bullet several times, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased these pants. After the initial sticker shock, I have not been disappointed in the least. They are true to size and fit great. I find myself wearing these pants off the trail quite often. They are very comfortable. Pockets are well placed and right sized. Abrasion resistance is very good. The… Full review

The North Face Paramount Traverse Pant

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I've tired on a pair on in size 32. I usually wear 32 or medium, and the fit is just perfect. The length for a 6 ft guy at 160 pounds is also excellent. They come factory ready with a water repellent, which is effective. They look great so I decided to buy 3 pairs. The Paramount also have pre-bent knees, two zipped pockets on each legs (vertical on the right leg and horizontal on the left), plus four others. I used the zipped pocket on the left leg usually for poo bags for the dog and didn't use… Full review

Toad&Co Debug Cool Weave Pant

rated 4 of 5 stars The Toad&Co. Debug Cool Weave pants are lightweight hiking/traveling pants that come pretreated with Insect Shield. This permethrin-based fabric treatment does a very good job of repelling mosquitos, ticks, flies and assorted other pesky flying bugs. The Cool Weave fabric provides ventilation and UPF40 sun protection. Two large front pockets and two rear pockets are joined by a cleverly hidden zippered pocket behind the left rear pocket. I have been testing these pants for the past three months… Full review

Columbia Men's Pilsner Peak Pant

rated 4 of 5 stars The Columbia Men’s Pilsner Peak Pant is a good pant for hiking, backpacking, and rock climbing for three seasons. They wick well, making them comfortable for warm weather use, with enough stretch to work well for climbing. They are somewhat water repellent. They are, however, a very slim fit for their nominal size. Some Background: Pants and other clothing for outdoor activities have only a few basic functions to fulfill: weather protection (sun UV, warmth/cooling, cold wind and breezes), protection… Full review

5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Extremely rugged trousers that are intended for military or paramilitary use, but are excellent for hiking, although a little on the heavy side. On the Cumbria Way in my Stryke trousers I recently hiked the Cumbria Way, a 73-mile trail in England's Lake District, wearing a pair of Stryke trousers by US brand 5.11 Tactical. As its name indicates, 5.11 makes gear primarily for the military, but I thought that the Strykes would make good hiking trousers and I was not disappointed. I wore the Strykes… Full review

REI Adventures Cargo Pants

rated 5 of 5 stars Great outdoors, not that out of the place in the city. REI must have mannequins of my size because their pants always fit me perfectly. I find them very comfortable. This one is no exception. You will feel comfortable and look good in those pants both on the trail and in the mall. It makes them very versatile for travelling. They have 7 pockets, 3 of them with zippers. One pocket is just a tiny one located inside the right hand pocket. They are very light and dries fast. Obviously not made for winter,… Full review

Craghoppers NosiLife Convertible Trousers

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Practical lightweight trousers with nine pockets and zip-off legs, and impregnated with insect repellent. Excellent for warm weather hiking and travel. British brand Craghoppers take a practical approach in the design of their clothing and these trousers are no exception. They feature a total of nine pockets—hip, thigh and back pockets plus a zipped security pocket behind the right hip pocket, an extra zipped pocket on the left thigh pocket, and a stretch pocket inside the right thigh pocket… Full review

Fjallraven Men's Keb Gaiter Trouser

rated 3 of 5 stars An incredibly durable pant that converts to shorts, and has adjustable DWR thanks to the wax coating. Ideal for scrambles and bushwalking. The Keb Gaiter is a effectively a creative reimagining of your classic zip off pant-shorts, but using Fjallraven's cult favourite the Keb Trouser. The Gaiter version uses same hybrid G1000 and super light stretch material design. The key difference is that instead of a bottom vent zipper, the fabric beneath the knee bend has a zipper. The bottom sections are… Full review
