prAna Stretch Zion Convertible

rated 5 of 5 stars Super comfortable and stylish pants. Recommended for pretty much everyone! After multiple attempts at finding a great-fitting pair of hiking pants, I finally came across some reviews on the Prana Stretch Zion Convertible pants that helped me make up my mind that these were the pants I wanted.  However, I wasn't able to find a pair in any of my local stores, and the $85-90 pricetag gave me pause on purchasing them without trying them on.  But, after a few months of checking on some of the stores… Full review

Fjallraven Men's Vidda Pro Trouser

rated 5 of 5 stars Fjällräven’s Vidda Pro Trousers are a functional and durable pair of pants that hit the mark in virtually every category. Robust yet svelte, these trousers are best for the outdoors-person that needs heavy duty performance, year after year. Don’t fear cotton with these 65/35 polyester/cotton pants, hiking all day in wet snowy weather doesn’t phase the "Arctic Fox"...Fjällräven! Fjällräven has been making durable outdoors products since 1960, and quality truly shines with their Vidda… Full review

Barbour Wax Pants

rated 4 of 5 stars I have been wearing waxed cotton Barbour or Filson (killer pants, bout the only thing that will rip them is a barb wire fence) for 40 years. Best application is busting brush in the rain or snow and wind. Bird hunting in fall and winter most often. My buddies with membranes get wet as moisture brushes through. I use membranes for hiking or backpacking. I have three Barbour jackets, but the most often used is a simple shell, no cotton lining. All are straight cut and rugged with outstanding hardware. … Full review

Barbour Wax Pants

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Waxed cotton outerwear may now be considered old-fashioned, but there is a place for it in contemporary activities. That the brand is not listed on Trailspace indicates a missing spot in outdoor apparel. I am writing this only because the brand was not listed on Trailspace. Despite Barbour having nearly a 1/4 billion dollars in annual sales it is relatively unknown in North America. This may be in part because their iconic product, waxed outerwear, has become eclipsed by Goretex and other modern… Full review

Kuhl Splash Pant

rated 5 of 5 stars Dries quickly when it gets wet, and does not crimp or bind in the crotch or mid-section. The material is strong and lightweight. Feels comfortable, nice to the touch. Seams are re-enforced. The snap in front stays snapped in vigorous movement. Nice deep pockets, front and side of the leg. I have purchased other Kuhl garments. I like their pants the best. I prefer the Splash Pant" because for my body type it definitely fits the best in the waist and torso. I have worn the pants on fishing trips and… Full review

Toad&Co Cache Cargo Pant

rated 4 of 5 stars A great dual purpose pant with the feel of light canvas. As I am always on the lookout for clothes that can do double duty I was pleased when I got the chance to test a pair of Cache Cargo pants by Toad&Co during a recent trip to India. Knowing I would need pants that could stand up to hiking, walking around town, and would still be nice enough to wear to restaurants the Cache Cargos seemed to fill the bill. Constructed of organic cotton and recycled polyester with just a small amount of spandex,… Full review

Columbia Silver Ridge Cargo Pant

rated 5 of 5 stars My go-to summer pants. It's primary usage is light hiking and when hitting the gym but when in summer pretty much all the time! The color is zinc/voltage. The fit is normal and the sizing is true. I bought 32/32 even thought it's feels more relaxed after a while probably because the fabric gives that impression due to it's lightness. It comes with it's own belt. It features a front zipper and a partially elasticated waist on the sides. It has two front pockets big enough to fit your 5-6 inch smartphone. Full review

prAna Stretch Zion Convertible

rated 5 of 5 stars Perfect hiking pant. Probably my favorite piece of gear that I've owned for hiking. About as comfortable as a pair of pants get—lightweight, protection from wind and rain. They adjust at the waist with an easy pull when you're shedding weight on the trail. Stretch in all the right places. I own the convertible option, but a lot of times keep them as pants even in warmer environments because the breath-ability is outstanding. On the flip size, I've worn them in the winter for hikes or yard work… Full review

Beyond Clothing A9 Utility Pant

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Quality materials with a lot of features, but the design is just OK. The pants are also expensive (~$200), so not recommended for most people. As a member of another website I get products to test from time to time in exchange for a review. This time I got to test the Beyond Clothing A9-U - Utility Mission Pant. I'm not a military person, so I don't maybe have the background many of their target market has, but I do love to be outdoors, go backpacking, and hiking. These pants are made of a tough,… Full review
