RailRiders Jammin' Short

rated 5 of 5 stars Best pair of shorts I have ever owned. Still wear two pairs that are 10+ years old and have hiked 500+ miles. These are the best all-purpose shorts I have ever owned. I rarely wear anything else. They are lightweight, comfortable, and extremely rugged. I have spent months at a time hiking/bushwhacking in just a single pair and the only hole they have is from a stray ember during a summer bonfire. The elastic waist makes them comfortable and they fit nicely on a variety of waist sizes. They dry super… Full review

Sierra Designs Dricanvas Short

rated 5 of 5 stars These shorts have the pockets you need and the fit you want if you are serious about hiking and backpacking. They look nice, feel great, and are clearly designed with the backpacker in mind!! These shorts fit really well. They allow for a full athletic range of motion. When wearing a pack there is no abrasion or rubbing of any kind. I prefer a bottom layer to have belt loops instead of the integrated belts. I find the built in belts always get tangled and rarely remain tight. Adding my own webbing… Full review

Gramicci Men's Original G Short

rated 5 of 5 stars It is soft and good quality material. True to size. It is soft and good quality material. True to size. Full review

Rockwater Designs Roanoke Shorts

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The shorts are quick drying. I like the top of the knee length. Great for hiking. These shorts are serving me well as I hike for 2 to 8 hours each time I go hiking. I have recommended them to my fellow hikers who belong to Chebucto Hiking Club. Full review

Arc'teryx Rampart Short

rated 5 of 5 stars These shorts are awesome! I own two pairs, but am seriously considering ordering other colors and getting rid of my other shorts. They're very lightweight, dry quickly, and fit my athletic build. I've never owned another pair of shorts that I love on a mountain or beach and look great out at dinner. 'nuff said. Full review

Mountain Hardwear Men's Canyon Short

rated 4 of 5 stars These shorts by Mountain Hardwear are very lightweight and are made with comfortable material. You don't have to worry about what comes at you in these shorts because they are easy to move around in, are quick drying, and feature mesh draining panels in the pockets. These shorts are great for time on the trail or around the campsite, especially if you know that there is a good possibility you'll be swimming or getting wet. They are so lightweight, coming in at a whopping 7.9oz (size large) and are… Full review

Outdoor Research Women's Ferrosi Shorts

rated 5 of 5 stars The most comfortable, versatile hiking shorts I own! I love these shorts! They are comfortable, lightweight, breathable, and look great on the trail! I've even had hikers stop me as we pass one another to ask where to get a pair for themselves.  OR uses a combination of spandex and ripstop material in the construction of these soft shell shorts. As a result, they are durable, lightweight, and flexible. The material wicks moisture away. Wearing my Ferrosis, I've often dipped into trailside swimming… Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Ferrosi Shorts

rated 5 of 5 stars By far the most comfortable hiking shorts I have ever worn. I live and hike in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and have worn these on every trip this summer. The 4-way stretch material allows for full range of motion and is also very comfortable against my skin. It also drys quickly after a rain storm and does not feel clammy on humid days. The shorts go to the tops of the knee which I find to be the perfect length.  When deciding what to wear during a triathlon that consisted of biking (both… Full review

Columbia Battle Ridge Short

rated 5 of 5 stars Lightweight, quick dry nylon shorts great for hot, humid days. Also works well for canoeing and fishing where you might get wet and what to dry off fast if you do. Demonstrates the quality that Columbia normally builds into their "active" line of clothing. Columbia's Battle Ridge shorts can be found at most department stores, mine came from Belk on sale for $29.  They are made of nylon with polyester mesh pockets, with two inseam lengths - 9 inches and 11 inches.  Two front pockets and two back… Full review
